Odyssey . Golf, which is the leading producer of golf clubs, issued the alluring novelty and released it in 2011. Most of the golf club is made of 18 k white gold and is dripping in rubies and diamonds (240 rubies and 378 diamonds). The weight of gold is 350 gram, rubies count 4,11 carats and diamonds number 3,05 carats.

Despite the fact that the design has no real practical use, the design of the putter is luxurious and elegant.

The idea to create a diamond accessory for the prestigious sport was born during a game of golf, played by the successful jewellery designer, Theo Fennel and the director of marketing of Callaway/ Odyssey, Nick McInally.

The most expensive golf club was not created from scratch. It is based on the very popular Callaway 2-Ball Putter model, which sells for

Signature putter 2-Ball was in the bags of both players, when they took part in the prestigious The Berkshire Golf Club tournament in the UK. Theo Fennel finished the tournament with a decisive, gliding shot, deciding there and then with Nick McInally that the Callaway 2-Ball Putter must be a gold accessory. This was the starting point in the creation of the luxury accessory.

During the celebratory dinner, where the owner of the Golf at Harrods concession, James Peters, as well as Tim Daly, the owner of prestigious brand TDP were also present, the plan was born. The four businessmen decided to create the world’s most luxurious golf club.

The CAA has been organizing a plethora of events focusing on road safety, always in collaboration with the Police or/ and the State through many organizing bodies. At the same time, the CAA is a member of the F.I.A (Federation Internationale Del L’ Automobile), representing it in Cyprus while organizing all the national rallies, including the National Cyprus Rally since 1970. A rally which has promoted the small island of Cyprus while placing it on the world map of motorsports. The Cyprus Rally celebrated its 45th birthday last year.

No other sports, or otherwise, organization had managed to turn the world’s spotlights onto our island as much as the Cyprus Rally has through the years. From the United States all the way to Japan, Africa, the then Soviet Union and Scandinavia. All have seen our Rally but also the beauty of Cyprus all over the world. The foundations for the Cyprus Rally were laid in 1964, when the Cyprus Automobile Association became a full member of the F.I.A. The very first Cyprus Rally was held in 1970 with Ellinas and Fisher reaching the finish line first in their Fiat 125. The Rally was granted the title of “National” in 1971 with Christos Kirmitsis taking top honors in his Ford Escort RS. Despite suffering a two-year gap (1974/75), the rally quickly climbed the European coefficients, reaching coefficient 3 in 1978.

1982 saw the Cyprus Rally promoted to the top level in Europe and it went on to become one of the elite, when coefficient 20 was devised in 1988. From then, the goal was the World Championship.

The Cyprus organisers were thrown in at the deep end when the Rally was taken into the WRC as a last-minute replacement for the China Rally in May 2000, leaving them just four months in which to put everything together.

The event was a level playing field for the WRC teams as Armin Schwarz was the only driver to have competed on the island. A crushing start-to-finish victory gave Carlos Sainz his first win in the Ford Focus.

The 2001 Rally moved from September to flaming June and Ford won again, this time with Colin McRae. Since 2006 Marcus Grönholm (2002), Petter Solberg (2003) and Sébastien Loeb (2004-05-06) won the event. In 2007, the Cyprus Rally was round 6 of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship (MERC) and Charalambos Timotheou became the first Cypriot driver to win the event since 1991. Same scenario in 2008 when the 20 years of age, Thomas was the youngest driver ever to win the Cyprus Rally and also the youngest driver to ever win a MERC event.

2009 marked a return to the WRC with the FxPro Cyprus Rally round 3 on the

Middle East Rally Champion Nasser Al-Attiyah of Qatar and Giovanni Bernacchini steer their Ford Fiesta S2000 to a stunning victory. The Love Cyprus Golden Stage Rally, held immediately after the FxPro Cyprus Rally, was won by Norway’s Andreas Mikkelsen and his co-driver Ola Floene. Mikkelsen return to Cyprus in 2011 and won the rally while Thierry Neuville (current Hyundai WRC driver) dominated the 2nd ever Cyprus Golden Stage.

In 2012, the Cyprus Rally stays in Paphos. Final event of 2012 Intercontinental Rally Challenge and the penultimate round of FIA Middle East Rally Championship. Nasser Al-Attiyah won the event over his closest rival Andreas Mikkelsen.

Alexey Lukyanuk was dominant in CNP ASFALISTIKI Cyprus Rally 2016, clinching overall victory and the European Rally Championship runner up spot, in the ERC season finale.

Lukyanuk also recorded the fastest time on the Love Cyprus Golden Stage, therefore winning €25,000 pledged by the Cyprus Tourism Organisation

Mila has gained her experience in corporate and financial services, heading an international fiduciary company and serving as CEO for a CYSEC-regulated company.

She obtained her Financial Services Certification from CIIM (Cyprus International Institute of Management) and holds an MBA (Hons). Currently Mila is heading the Russian Desk of CYRUBA (Cyprus-Russian Business Association) within the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce. She organises international exhibitions for the Association, coordinates all social and professional activities and acts is the liaison for its members and associates.

Marina Hadjitsangari - Treasurer

Marina joined Moody’s Investor Services in 2007 and is an Associate Analyst for the Financial Institutions Group (FIG). Based in Cyprus, Marina covers a number of banks in the Middle East and North Africa. Her work has taken her to such exotic locations as Georgia, Egypt and Croatia, where she frequently sits down with heads of international banking units. Marina is well equipped to take up her prestigious job, seeing as she has heavily invested into her education from a young age.

She holds a BA in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University and an MSc in Shipping Trade and Finance, from Cass Business School, City University of London.

How does it work?

The Chamber of Commerce consists of five regional branches, located in Nicosia, Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos and the unoccupied part of Famagusta. The Chamber is governed by a committee, a board and an auditing committee.

How can foreign entrepreneurs become members of the Chamber?

What must they do?

First of all, let’s clarify that the membership is voluntary. One does not have to be part of it.

In some countries, a person must become a member of a similar organisation and pay taxes accordingly, in order to run their business in said country. We do not practice this approach. Therefore, the membership numbers of our Chamber are due to the impeccable work we do. Cyprus works with other countries. Can you tell us the country that creates the most direct investment?

Where does the money flow from into the ample economy of Cyprus?

Russia makes a sizeable contribution. Middle East also generates significant investments. Europe is always active, especially the UK. Everyone talks about Brexit, of course, yet that is a whole different story.

It is clear that entrepreneurs from exUSSR states invest into the island. Which industries are most lucrative?

Usually, the businessmen you mention use Cyprus as headquarters for their foreign operations. They conduct their global business from here. They create offices, hire lots of staff that serve the interests of the Russian companies. There are instances of direct investments, such as acquisitions in the tourist sector, e.g. hotel purchases.

This is predominantly the case in Limassol, where large hotels and resorts are concerned.

Real estate is another popular business for Russian-speaking business people.

Middle East is also interested in tourist. Is this correct?

Of course! Tourism is the biggest contributor to the local economy, so it is expected that foreign investment will be attracted to the most profitable sector. It is well-known that last year we beat a new record, as the island welcomed over 3 million guests.

Absolutely correct! The UK is a leader, as we all know that Cyprus used to be a British colony. Many people on the island speak English. Currently, the amount of Russian speakers on the island is growing in all sectors, too. Demand creates supply. The Brits find business easy to do in Cyprus, as our legal framework is based on the UK model. The combination of the legal framework, low crime rates, safety in the region, wide choice of food and entertainment options leads to an increase in tourists from the UK and other countries.

The growth can be attributed to the frequency of flights, as the transportation links have improved. Flights from different regions of the country have become frequent.

Tourism went beyond Moscow.

We can see certain regions of Cyprus become popular with Russians, such as Protaras. Now they choose to vacation here with families.

This is due to the beautiful sandy beaches and Cyprus hospitality. You were the President of CYRUBA, which is the Cyprus Russian Business Association, until November 2011. Now you are the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Trade. Tell us how this change came to be?

были Президентом CYRUBA , то есть Кипрско-Российской Ассоциации Бизнесменов. А потом мы увидели Вас уже в новой должности Председателя Торгово-Промышленной палаты Кипра. Как так вышло и что это значит? Председателя выбирают вполне демократическим путем, голосуют члены региональных ППТ. Там, в каждой палате,по 25 членов, так сказать, старейшин, которые и решают, кого выдвинуть на этот пост и за кого голосовать. Всегда больше одного кандидата. Председатель избирается на три года и может быть на этом посту не более двух сроков. Я уже на этом посту шестой год. Нельзя сказать, что я ушел из CYRUBA, правильнее сказать, я перерос эту должность и меня выдвинули выше. Это двухсторонняя организация, которая тоже входит в Торгово –промышленную палату. Я никогда не терял с ними связи, а даже наоборот. Там я отработал восемь продуктивных лет, у меня сложилист прочные связи с подобными организациями в России и так же с разного рода ассоциациями в сфере бизнеса. Как Палата борется с эмбарго против Росии, что было предпринято? Мы всегда были против любых санкций против России, не только потому, что мы друзья, но и в первую очередь по тому, что все эти ограничения и запреты плохо влияют на экономику нашей родной страны. Честно говоря больше пострадали мы. Россиябольшая страна, Кипр- маленькая. В основном пострадало сельское хозяйство. Где то 10 – 12 миллионов ущерба. Это все еще не трагично. Ну а другие отрасли продолжали развиваться. Русские продолжали и продолжают работать на Кипре и вкладывать сюда деньги благодаря соглашению о двойном налогообложении. Всем известная стрижка капиталов повлияла на развитие бизнеса? Было ли это катастрофой ? Все это вызвало волнение в бизнес кругах, но преимущества ведения бизнеса здесь сыграли главную роль.

I can’t say that I left CYRUBA. It would be more correct to say that I have outgrown the post and was promoted further.

This is a dual organisation that is also a part of the Chamber of Commerce. I never lost touch with CYRUBA. On the contrary, I have built meaningful relationships in that post, having served 8 productive years in CYRUBA. I have developed close links with equivalent associations in Russia, as well as other business associations.

A resort casino will be built in Fassouri very soon. The agreement will be signed in less than a month.

The investment will be over EUR 600 million. Within this year there will be 5 satellite branches of the casino, one per region. The main branch will be built in October this year, which will cost EUR 40 million. This will allow an extension on building of the actual resort. As you may have understood, we are not merely talking about a single building. This will be a resort, complete with parks, theatres and the hotel, among others.

The construction is planned for completion in 2020.

How does the Chamber of Commerce oppose the embargo on Russia? What actions have been taken?

We are always opposed to sanctions against Russia, partially because of the friendly relationship between the countries. In addition, the sanctions are bad for our local economy. We suffered more, to be honest. Russia is a large country, whereas Cyprus is small. Agriculture suffered the most. There has been 10-12 million of losses to-date. This is not tragic. Other industries continued growing. Russians continued to work and are still working in Cyprus, investing funds into the country due to double tax treaties in place.

There has been rumours of a massive amusement park in Larnaca. Is this true?

There has been plans, yet they were subject to demolition of oil storage units. Once this is done, a large proportion of the seafront will be free and this will open doors for new developments. For the time being there has been nothing officially submitted to this effect.

Did the infamous “haircut” affect the business developments? Was it catastrophic?

It caused commotion in the business circles, yet the benefits of continuing business prevailed. All major companies preferred to stay on the island and continue their work here.

It was a bitter medicine, which we managed to swallow, nevertheless.

Tell us about some major business projects that we can expect in the near future.

Cyprus is rebuilding the economy and creating growth after the crisis. Investments help this process significantly. We have to reach new levels in business development. We have to grow sectors other than tourist and improve infrastructures accordingly. There are several large and expensive projects, which will change the island. There will be more opportunities and workplaces created.

Есть несколько важных и дорогостоящих проектов, которые изменят облик острова. Появятся новые возможности и новые рабочие места. Хочу отметить, что в район Фассури скоро построят Казино – курорт. Соглашение будет подписано менн , чем через месяц. Размер инвестиций превысит 600 миллионов. Работать это будет так. В текущем году откроются филиалы казино, их будет пять. По одному в каждом регионе, в октябре этого года постороят главный филиал, стоимостью около 40 миллионов. Все это даст временную отсрочку на строительство самого комплекса. Как вы поняли, мы не говорим об одной постройке, это будет комплекс, включающий в себя парки, театры отели и многое другое. Сроки завершения работ -2020 год. Ходили слухи о большом парке развлечений в районе Ларнаки. Это правда или миф? Были планы, действительно, но все упиралось в демонтаж нефтехранилищ . как только все будет завершено, освободится огромная часть пребрежной зоны и это откроет двери новым проектам . Пока, на документальном уровне, ничего нет. Что бы вы хотели пожелать нашим слушателям и читателям , тем бизнесменам, которые планируют работать или жить на острове?

The advantages of becoming a resident in the country are numerous, with the first and foremost advantage being the tax benefits and significant exceptions the country can offer.

With the acquirement of a property showing that the investment has come from abroad into Cyprus and proof of annual income from abroad and a fixed three-year deposit with a Cyprus approved bank, an individual and his family can have the opportunity to acquire permanent residency in the country and enjoy the permanent residency by investment scheme.

Any foreigner who wishes to move and become a personal tax resident in Cyprus, is considered as a non-domiciled individual in Cyprus for the period of a maximum of 17 years.

In the light of this idea, non-domiciled individuals who acquire personal tax residency in Cyprus and are considered Cyprus tax residents will be exempted from Special Defense contribution Tax which applies on dividends and interest.

It is important to note at this point that there are specific requirements for applicants and limits to the worth of the property and specific amount of annual income etc. which apply, but in general terms the process is not considered to be difficult and time consuming and one of the reasons Cyprus is chosen for permanent residency by investment is because of the smoothness of operations regarding bureaucracy.

Furthermore, once the permanent residency is acquired, the holder can apply for a Cypriot passport which has its own benefits, but this has to be done at a later stage due to the fact that this is dependent on the years one resides in the country.

Moreover, in simple terms, individuals who move their personal tax residency in Cyprus, are considered to fall under the non-domicile concept and so will not pay tax on dividends and interest earned.

Его дизайн и стиль переносят всех посетителей в другое измерение, в параллельную реальность, не свойственную этим местам. При входе нас встретил Советник Главы Компании Сергей Осипов. Он проводил нас в уютную комнату с прекрасным видом на столицу, которая располагалась на 10 этаже чудо –башни. Хотелось бы пояснить, что для острова в целом не характерны высотные строения по причине сейсмически активности региона, да и традиционно местные жители привыкли обитать в частных домах. Последние годы, с развитием новых строительных технологий, там и здесь стали рости, как грибы после дождя, многоэтажные здания. Но подобного этому мы пока еще не встречали. Сергей Осипов рассказал нам о самой организации в этом интервью:

The widely known group of companies WARGAMING.NET has made Cyprus its headquarters. World of Tanks and World of Warships are games widely played across the world, yet not many people know where the popular games come from. We had the chance to visit the Cyprus offices of the organisation and find out everything firsthand. Right in the centre of the capital, close to the Presidential Palace stands the building from the future, which does not fit the urban architecture of Nicosia. The design transports visitors to another dimension, parallel reality, unlike anything around these areas.

We were greeted by the Senior Advisor to the CEO, Sergey Osipov.

He took us to a comfortable room that sits on the 10th floor with the view of the capital of the magical tower. It is worth noting that tall buildings are not common in Cyprus due to frequent earthquakes, as well as due to the habits of locals that typically reside in detached houses. Lately high-rise buildings have been on the rise, as were all other real estate developments. Yet we have never seen anything quite like this before.

Hence the name WARGAMING. Everyone wanted to make a game. Dream became reality and then turned into good business, recognisable in all parts of the world.

The same can be said of St. Petersburg and Kiev. More than 100 professions are involved in a massive product, like the tanks game. Games about ships are created in St. Petersburg, which is more relevant there, as it is a port. Minks is the place where tanks and mobile tanks are created. Kiev is the place for plane games. Most of our offices are dealing with marketing functions. It is more economically viable to have development in cheaper locations. China would be even more productive than postUSSR states. Belarus works well, too, from the business perspective.

In 2012 you started cooperating with China, correct?

Exactly! We have released a tanks game with another company in China. It worked out well and we are thinking of making our own offices there. It is a huge single market.

Gladly, as this is an amazing project. World of Tanks is a game that is dedicated to a specific moment in time, which is World War Two. In the game you play with tanks, developed in the 1920’s. This is essentially a tiny tractor that has a metal shell over it. And during the game you experience the development of tanks, as an industry, through time and countries of development, such as USSR, German and Japanese models. You start with the simplest models in 1043, moving on to “tigers” and “panthers” of 1944. The best tanks are usually those that come after the war ended, which were used in post WW2, or are still used in some African states. The game takes place in this period of time. All the history of the equipment has been verifies. The maps used for virtual battles are very close to the original ones. Our

designers actually visited the geographic location and took topographic shots. This is not a 100% recreation of the war, as there is room for imagination.

This is a very emotional product.

You are immersed into a movie, where you become the leader of a team, developing your skills and performing duties. In Russia, the tank game is a social phenomenon. There is no other country with so many players.

This is phenomenal. People hear about the game from their neighbours, instal it and play for many years. Naturally, there is some patriotic history at play, which is present in all post-USSR countries. This is the connection between our product and our gamers.

Who is a typical gamer? Are boys the usual players?

-There are not really “boys”. The average age is about 35!

This means that the gamers are quite intelligent. These are fully formed adults, with higher education. These are not students or pupils. This says a lot!

Therefore, a careful inference can be made, that the recession is firmly approaching its end. The entering of the inflation area was largely driven by internal domestic and government expenditure.

Moreover, the Cyprus government has finally regained access to the foreign borrowings in 2016, which is only 16 months after the bailout and requires no more capital injections from Troika.

Another major indicator of Cyprus economy well-being is the unemployment, which is constantly decreasing since October 2013, when it has reached all time high point at 16.8%.

However, the average unemployment in 2016 has

Теперь инвесторы ожидают публикации экономической программы Дональда Трампа. Предполагается, что в ней будут содержаться принципы стимулирования промышленного производства в Соединённых Штатах, а также некие крупные проекты по строительству промышленной инфраструктуры. Так же ожидается снижение налогов на промыш-

ленность. Именно это и вызвало бурный рост котировок акций. Участники финансовых рынков пристально следят за риторикой и планами ФРС. The Forex market will see a further USD strengthening as soon as the FRS rises the rates again. The most complicated to forecast, as we consider, are prices for gold. Lately, they grow and do not respond the US currency dynamics.

Perhaps, investor interest to gold is rather high, and its quotations are likely to further increase.

In order to check our ideas

China has become the third country in the world that has successfully tested a plane that runs on hydrogen fuel. Previously, only USA and Germany managed this.

The Chinese model has a fuel capacity of 20 kilowatt. The plane went up to 320 metres during testing, demonstrating, according to the engineers, stable working conditions at below 20 Celsius.

The first flight of the prototype occurred in Shenyang, which is a city in the north-east of Laonin province. The end of flat design I think we’ve reached the point in flat web design where everything is starting to look the same, and we’ve lost our personality and creativity in design. When you strip everything away, you’re left with what everyone else has: the basics that look just like each other.

Imaginative heading styles We’re starting to move away from the basic heading style seen on websites (san serif, all caps, centered heading) and moving more toward imaginative or creative headings. Changing up the heading style is a welcomed way to be unique in your design.

Designers feel that the creativity is gone, and with the desire to create something great, I see flat design ending for the most part in favor of layouts and designs that are more imaginative and unique.

Changing up the justification and layout of the heading, adding unique elements to the heading, or even going without a heading (at least above the fold) are all ways in which designers are starting to experiment with changing up the typical heading style on websites.

Geometric shapes, lines, and patterns It seems as though the use of geometric shapes, lines, and patterns have really taken off in the late part of 2016, and I anticipate this continuing through 2017.

The World’s Most Valuable Brand Назван самый дорогой бренд в мире Google has been recognised as the most valuable brand on the planet. Research analysts from Brand Finance have announced the rating of top 500 most valuable and the top 10 of most influential brands on the planet.

According to this rating, the most valuable brand of the past year is Google, whereas the most influential is Lego. Among Russian brands, Sberbank of Russia is ranked 156th, Gazprom is in 344th place and Lukoil is at number 375.

It is worth noting that in comparison with last year, there has been a lot of changes in the list. Last year Apple was top of the ratings, whereas this year it conceded to Google.

In 2016 over 1,000 CISI qualifications were taken by candidates on the island of Cyprus. Simon said that the CISI had received several enquiries from EU regulators wanting to know if CISI exams are compliant with European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) requirements. He said: «The simple answer is yes. Our Introduction exam is fully ESMA compliant and around 5,000 individuals entered for this exam last year.

In some Gulf states this CISI qualification is the threshold competence requirement to operate in the market.”
