Come Along

Volume 2012 Issue 1

A letter from our Chapter President, Hello All, With a little recent bump in the economy we all seem to be keeping fairly busy, at least that’s the way it seems in the discussions that I have had with several of you. If we are not busy with profitable stuff we are busy with all of the current government regulations that we are held to. We started to count the requirements put into play in recent years and here is what we came up with: - DOT requirements - new standards and inspections on lighter trucks too - Lead based paint certifications - Silica riders in our insurance policies for our employees using concrete products - Continuing education hours for our contractor’s licenses - Looming health insurance mandates This may explain why we feel a little tired at work. The bottom line is that it pays to stay informed on what these requirements are…..hey this is a pitch for keeping involved in our chapter of the American Fence Association. Keeping us up to date is exactly what this organization does for us, but only if we stay involved. The education seminar at the end of the will prove to be what we need to keep up to date on lien laws, CCB details, and licensing requirements. Alan Mitchell is one of the few lawyers that I enjoy listening to and have felt that I learned something from each of the times that I have heard him speak. I hope to see a great turnout for the event. Following our education seminar will be a board meeting where we will see Dick Boyle take over as president of our chapter. It has been an enjoyable two years serving as your President. The team does a great job and I look forward to working with the board as Past President. I hope to join Alex Weisensee on the Education Committee as we transition, and maybe a few of you would like to join us in serving on committees or running for a position on the board. Work is underway for your Summer Fun meeting in August at the amazing Suncadia Resort. John Rosebeary, Terri Boose, and Brad Howard are building the excitement as they plan for a bigger event than we have seen before. Terri did a great job last year, and with Brad and John on the team I am sure it will impress us all.

In. Out. Open. Close. Blah. Blah. Blah.

Sometimes, predictable is good. When it comes to gate operators, your customers should expect them to do what they’re supposed to do. That’s why LiftMaster’s latest operators offer Battery Backup, so gates work even when the power won’t, Security+ 2.0™ technology for twice the radio range and MyQ™ Technology for the industry’s only wireless dual gate communication. Predictable? We wouldn’t have it any other way.
