EVENTS Medieval Market Sat, May 17 – Sun, May 18 Obermoschel, Burg Landsberg Visit the 15th medieval market at the Moschellandsburg in Obermoschel 17th 18th of May. Inside the castle walls, merchants offer their products, craftsmen demonstrate their traditional skills and musicians and jugglers entertain visitors both days. The annual fire show with a concert by the groups Spectaculatius and Fire Planet are a highlight on Saturday night. After dark, the entire castle is lit only by torches and candles, creating unforgettable moments. The market opens its doors on Saturday at 11:00 - to midnight and Sundays from 10:00 - 20:00. There is parking directly below the castle. Visitors pay €6, children up to 14 years and costumed visitors pay €3 and there are also weekend tickets! Children up to sword height (55”) are free! fair again! Starting from the 23rd of May to the 2nd of June Kaiserslautern will host their May fair at the Messeplatz. You can ride the Ferris wheel, drive the bumper cars, or even just stroll through the fair and enjoy the variety of foods available. On the 25th of May you and your girlfriends will be able to find treasures like great second hand items, designer clothing, vintage and homemade items. Food and drinks will be served and music will be provided as well. The fleamarket starts at 10 a.m. and goes to 4 p.m. There is an entry fee of €2. Hiking Sat, May 24 Gräfendhron, Gemeindehaus This volksmarch path has its official opening on the 24th of May in the Haardtwald. You will be able to feel the “green energy” during this volksmarch as you take in the elements surrounding you like air and water. This volksmarch will be approx. 16 kilometers long so be sure to wear good walking shoes.
