Make it a Good Day

SERVE OTHERS. FEEL JOY. HAVE FUN.

The simple act of volunteering is ideal for capturing a person’s best side. The time that a person gives to volunteering, generates some of the warmest, most satisfying feelings that make every day, a good day. Like sunshine, these golden hours of giving shine warmly upon the giver and all those encircled by their generosity.

For the Good of You

LISTEN. ENCOURAGE. ADVOCATE.

Recently, AVP staff had the pleasure of getting to know a new retiree who wanted to explore volunteer possibilities. After an enjoyable get-to know- you chat, we presented a number of ideas that seemed like a very good fit for him. Soon after, he exclaimed, I can’t believe it, it feels like you are advocating for me! And that is what we have the privilege of doing …advocating for you! Mr. R, know that we appreciated your enthusiasm. Welcome to the AVP team!

Yarning for Peace

A HUMANITARIAN EFFORT

Like a warm and encouraging hug, the trees, benches and sign posts at 1505 Avenue D are wrapped in the Ukrainian colors of the blue sky and the yellow harvest. To every community member who has been moved to devote their personal time to express their belief in the importance of peace, freedom and unity, your compassion in action inspires great hope.
