Note! The cycle start photocell must be mounted in front of the machine at distance of 1450 mm from the front corner.

XJ404 machines are designed and built for exterior washing of buses, coaches and box vans, which move under their own power through the brushes. Recommended vehicle speed during the process abt.

Content of Delivery: Prewired and factory tested, internal plumbing included, hotdip galvanized frame (galvanizing process according to DIN 50976), brush ass'ies, motor control panel, photocells, traffic light fixture and installation accessories.

Technical data: Wash heights (dimension A): 3200, 3500, 3800, 4100 and 4400 mm, Min. washbay clearance (dimension B plus 150 mm): 3850, 4150, 4450, 4750 and 5050 mm.

Max. width of the vehicle 2600 mm. Min. washbay width 5100 mm. Minimum washbay length is 9600 mm, providing that start-up photocell and traffic lights are placed outside of the bay.

Brushes: diameter 1114/1314 mm, material: X-shaped polyethylene bristles with flagged ends. Brush rotation motors: 1.5 kW electric motor with worm gear reducer, output speed 95 r/min.

Motor control panel: Equipped with main switch, fuseless short circuit and overload protection, residual-current circuit breaker.

Sequence of operation Approaching vehicle interrupts the beam of the cycle start photocell placed to the front of the machine.

Presoak arch opens and brush motors run.

Figure 5. When the 1st left brush has cleaned the left half of the rear and is fully extended, it is retracted aside for the next vehicle. Correspondingly the 1st right side brush cleanses the remaining half of the rear and is retracted.

1003.1 Top brush (available only for wash height 4.4 m) Content of delivery: One (1) motor driven top brush with cradle and adjustable counterweights. The brush will clean window screen and roof.

Brush dimensions: length 2850 mm, Ă˜ 1114 mm, 95 r/min.

Brush material: Polyethylene filler material, X-shaped, flagged ends.

Brush rotation motor 1,5 kW with gear reducer (1:15). The motor is of three phase T.E.F.C. type, continuous duty rated, class F insulation.

The cradle of top brush is furnished with water spray arch.

Please note! When a XJ404 machine is equipped with the top brush it’s type designation changes to XJ405.

1020.1 Speed monitoring system comprises a tachometer, an extra photocell, related control circuits and a set of traffic lights.

The vehicle speed is detected in the first phase with photocells. In the second phase speed is measured with the tachometer. It is driven with a guide roll, which leans against side of vehicle.

When the speed is within recommended limits, the green lights are on. Slight overspeed causes the lights to start flashing. The next signal to the driver to slow down is flashing of red and green lights in turns. When the speed is so excessive that either the vehicle and / or the equipment is in danger to be damaged, the red lights are on. The yellow light indicates that the equipment has been switched off due the excess speed.
