Entre los aeropuertos de significación arquitectónica está el Chek Lap Kok (Hong Kong International). Un enorme, espacioso y elegante aeropuerto construido para que coincidiera con la entrega de Hong Kong a la República Popular de China en 1997, aunque la inauguración se celebró al año siguiente. La gran Terminal 1, diseñada por Foster and Partners parece un avión gigante. También los pequeños aeropuertos se suben al futuro y al arte, como el aeródromo Giovanni Nicelli de Lido di Venezia, decorado por el artista futurista Tato (Guglielmo Sansoni) y con una vanguardista torre de control. Luís Vidal es un arquitecto español especialista en aeropuertos. Define uno de sus objetivos como “la promoción de la intuición espacial” para los usuarios. Una técnica que ha aplicado a Zaragoza. ARTE EN EL INTERIOR Ya son cada vez más numerosas las iniciativas que convierten los aeropuertos en contenedores de exposiciones vanguardistas y muestras de museos. La enorme diversidad existente en todo el mundo se puede comprobar en el aeropuerto de Los Angeles (LAX): manifestaciones artísticas repartidas en las cinco terminales domésticas y en la terminal internacional. El programa artístico forma parte del ambicioso plan de expansión y renovación del aeropuerto. Una de las instalaciones más impactantes de LAX es la que lleva el nombre genérico de See Change (Ver el cambio) y que se puede ver en la terminal internacional. En See Change, 17 artistas muestran imágenes en movimiento a través de dos pantallas gigantes que cuelgan del techo del área de llegadas y de 25 grandes pantallas

Luís Vidal is a Spanish architect who specialises in airports. He describes one of his projects as “the promotion of spatial intuition” for users. He applied this technique in Zaragoza.

ART ON THE INSIDE An increasing number of initiatives are converting airports into spaces for modern exhibitions and museum displays. A reflection of the enormous diversity that exists around the world can be found at Los Angeles Airport (LAX), with artistic manifestations spread throughout the five domestic terminals and one international terminal. The artistic programme forms part of the ambitious expansion and renovation plan being carried out at the airport. One of the most impressive installations at LAX has been given the generic title of See Change and can be found inside the international terminal.
