RESIDENT SPOTLIGHTS FLORA ACOSTA Flora Acosta was born and raised in the Philippines, and on May 30th, 1972, she came to the United States. This year marks 50 golden years in the United States. She is retired from Detroit Medical Center/ Detroit Receiving Hospital in Downtown Detroit. She has been at All Seasons Birmingham four years now and loves the community. In her free time she loves gardening, cooking, water aerobics, Zumba, walking/ exploring downtown Birmingham, playing the piano, listening to music, and crocheting. Flora is a resident ambassador at All Seasons, she loves helping residents that have lived here for a while, as well as the new residents, welcoming them into the community with open arms.
ANGIE ATHENS Angie Athens was born and raised in Elmira, New York. She met her husband at her cousin's wedding and soon after they were happily married. He finished medical school and got an internship at a hospital in Detroit and soon opened his own practice. Angie remained at home to raise four wonderful children, three of whom would become doctors and join their father’s practice while her fourth child went to law school to become a lawyer. She enjoyed boating and traveling around the world! She can't think of her “favorite place,” as each destination offered its own memorable uniqueness.
