2016 - MILTON CRICKET CLUB‟S 26TH YEAR ARE YOU UP FOR IT?
Milton Cricket Club is eagerly anticipating the start of another new season. The club has now provided 26 years of very sociable cricket from its base The Black Boy Inn in the hamlet of Milton between Adderbury and Bloxham – so important because both of those village cricket teams sadly folded several years ago. We need more players! We have a very eclectic Sunday fixture list for 2016, so we need a large squad of players young and old, and of varied talent, but a cavalier attitude to life would be beneficial. It‟s quite acceptable to put your name down for just one or two games. Pre-season nets will be held at Warriner School on Saturdays 9, 16, 23 April from 12 noon – 1.30 pm (then on to The Black Boy) – you will be made very welcome So if you fancy a game, or just to watch, please contact Alan Plumb for more details. Become an MCC Vice-President! As ever we rely heavily on the generosity of our vice-presidents to keep us going, and we will work hard again this year to build on our vice-president numbers. In return we can offer: our splendid MCC tie, a warm welcome and a free tea at all home matches, and acknowledgement on our fixture card – all this for as little as £25! The 21 Adderbury match st July 3 will see the 21 staging of the annual needle match against Adderbury at Warriner School – so make a note in your diary to come and see us win back the Millennium trophy from the Adderbury usurpers, with sumptuous teas, and barbecue supper at The Black Boy. Annual Tour 2015 saw the continuation of the welcome and successful revival of the overseas tour –to Bucharest in early October! So why not come and join us – see you at nets?
