Photoshop Tutorial: Serigraph

Serigraph

Create a Serigraph effect to a portrait. Here we are using a nice portrait of a kid. I also prefer to have the portrait that has a clear background. I got this one from a free stock photo site Here.

1. First, go to Image > Adjustments > Channel Mixer...

Check on the Monochrome and drag the Red, Green and Blue sliders until the photo reaches the most highlighted look but be sure that the details are still there.

2. Go to Filter > Sketch > Stamp...

And use these settings.

Note: The amount of Light/Dark Balance will always depend on your photo.

3. Use the Healing Brush Tool for the dotted areas that aren't needed. Hold the Alt key and click it to a white surface and click it to the dark spots. You can also use the paint Brush Tool and color it White.

4. Now let's have this colored. Duplicate the layer by pressing Ctrl+J, go to Edit > Fill and pick “Color�. For this one, I chose a nice color yellow (fbe318). Press OK and set the Blending Mode to Multiply.

Here's what I got.

Choose whatever color you want.

Tip: You can easily change its color by using the Hue/Saturation options. Slide the Hue to whatever color you want. Enjoy and I hope you like the tutorial!
