Photoshop Tutorial: Comic Book Effect

Page 1

Comic Book Effect Adding a comic book style halftone-dot effect to your image. Using only Photoshop’s built-in filters made easy. 1. Choose your image you want to use. I got mine from a free stock photo site Here.

2. Duplicate the image. Right click the original layer and choose “Duplicate Layer...” Just name it “Halftone”.

Make sure your foreground color is White and background is Black as we prepare for the Halftone filter.

3. Go to Filter > Sketch > Halftone Pattern.... Play around with the Size and Contrast settings but don't make it too dark or too bright. Select “Dot in your Pattern Type.

Your image should look like this.

4. With the Halftone layer still active, invert the image by pressing Ctrl+I. It should now look like this.

5. Now change its Blending mode from Normal to Linear Light and lower the Opacity to around 70 plus %.

And you will now have this:

6. You can also add whatever text you want in the image. There it is. Hope you like my tutorial.
