A sustainable dorm supply thrift shop

The Green Sale is Barnard’s own dorm supply thrift shop. Items in good and working condition were donated by students at the end of the last school year and are available to first year and transfer students for a small fee. Items include mini-fridges, room decor, lamps, fans, desk supplies and more! Check out last year’s sale here.

Access Barnard Presale - A limited number of highly sought after items including mini-fridges, fans, and hot water kettles will be made available to students several days before the Green Sale. More details to follow.

The Green Sale - Sunday August 28th, time TBA. Come early, items are first come first serve and the line gets long quickly!

What To Expect During Pre-O Move-In

If you are arriving on campus by car, know that you cannot leave your car on Broadway while you move-in. Drop-off and unloading happens right in front of Barnard’s main gates at 117th St and Broadway. The driver should pull up (double-park if necessary) and put on the car’s hazards. The car should then be quickly unloaded. If the driver plans to help with the move-in process and stay for programming, then the driver needs to either move the car to street parking around campus (make sure to closely read parking signage for time limits, and pay at the pay stations!), or head for a parking garage.

We will have carts available to help you move your items, but a queue does form so you may have to wait a bit, depending on how busy things are when you arrive.

Access Barnard staff will be at a main checkin table alongside a representative from Residential Life & Housing, and we will also have a representative from Facilities present throughout move-in for any questions or issues regarding your dorm room. You will receive a welcome bag, your dorm room key and Barnard Student ID (again, provided that you have properly uploaded and submitted your photo!!), and the opportunity to pick up an optional dorm kit. Parents & Family will have a separate hospitality area and tours will be offered to them.

The OP Parent & Family Session is from 2:00-3:30pm

▶ On August 21st, FLI & Internat’l Move-In is from 10:00am-3:30pm

The FLI and International Parent & Family programming is from 4:00-6:00pm

FLI & Internat’l Student programming begins at 4:00pm

We strongly recommend that you arrive oncampus no later than 2:30pm so that you do not feel rushed before we officially kick-off at 4:00pm!!
