RESIDENTIAL LIFE & HOUSING
The Department of Residential Life & Housing at Barnard College seeks to provide opportunities for residential and nonresidential students that complement Barnard’s mission of intellectual risk-taking, discovery, and personal development. From moving into the residence halls to providing supportive resources to non-residential students, our department aims to ensure that students and their families are welcomed into the Barnard community and supported through graduation. Our approach is dedicated to helping students explore their purpose, cultivate community, and foster socially responsible innovation.
As you prepare for your fall semester arrival, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 212854-5561 or by email at housing@barnard.edu. For those living on campus, please review the list of prohibited items as you begin planning and packing. Remember that most of our residence halls do not have air conditioning, so you should plan for the heat and bring a fan! If you are one of our non-residential students or waiting on a housing decision, feel free to contact offcampus@barnard.edu for any questions or resources on off-campus housing.
