PASTOR DR. HENRY L. BROWN, III: Redefine Your Story
Pastor Dr. Henry L. Brown, III, affectionately called Pastor Henry, is a gifted servant of God who desires to do His will. A man of many talents, Pastor Henry is a powerful preacher, inspirational educator, and anointed singer. His remarkable growth in the ministry is a testament to what God can and will do through His children.
The dynamic pastor has been married for over 29 years to Lady Sherry, the love of his life. They are the proud parents of two adult children, Ansley Marie, and Henry L. Brown, IV, who is married to Mayah. Pastor Henry and Lady Sherry are the proud grandparents of two-year-old Nioami Blossom Brown.
Recently, VBD Magazine had the distinct pleasure of talking with the man of God about his successes and challenges, his journey as an educator, and his calling to serve in ministry. Pastor Henry was relaxed, yet alert as he responded to our questions via Zoom. It is easy to see how his engaging personality, educational qualifications, and people-centered approach, makes him an effective leader. But his real mission, Pastor Henry says, is much broader. And by the looks of things, he is not afraid to blaze his own trail.
The Beginning
During his childhood years, Pastor Henry dedicated his life to serving God. It was evident that God’s hand was on his life. His father Bishop Henry L. Brown Jr. and the late Queen Mother Margaret Annie Lee Brown are the founders of Brown’s Temple F.B.H. Church in Pompano Beach, Florida. This church has been a staple in the community for over 58 years.
Pastor Henry began singing in the ministry at five years old in the children’s choir. He started singing in the background and later discovered that he had a gift for singing. As a result, he began to lead songs for the children’s and young adult choirs. Also, he found an interest in playing the organ at the age of thirteen and started playing for the ministry.
The Call to Ministry
At sixteen years old, Pastor Henry accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior. It was prophesied that he would be the pastor of Brown’s Temple, but Pastor Henry fought this calling for many years. However, he could not escape God’s calling.
In 2019, Bishop Henry L. Brown Jr. passed the mantle to Pastor Henry during an installation service held at the church. Having received his mandate from God, Pastor Henry obediently fulfilled his calling as Senior Pastor of Brown’s Temple F.B.H. Church. To date, he has been in ministry for over 22 years.
“I think that the prayers of my mother, the prayers of my father, the prayers of my grandmother, and the prayers of those old missionaries have kept me grounded.”
