The ACU experience is infused with opportunities for interaction. For instance, pre-medical and pre-dental students shadow Christian physicians as part of ACU’s Body & Soul Program. Following their first semester in the program, students spend several weeks alongside doctors in various settings, observing surgeries, births and other procedures. For many students, the shadowing experience is life-changing, reinforcing their passion for the art and science of healing. It is one reason that from 2004–2008, ACU graduates have been accepted into medical and dental schools at a rate almost twice the national average.

Expressions of faith happen daily at ACU, whether the occasion is ordinary or momentous. For instance, students will worship in ACU’s Chapel on the Hill on the eve of their service-learning trip to Choluteca, Honduras. By the end of their weeklong experience, they will have lived their faith in the world, using their education and leadership to further the humanitarian efforts of Choluteca’s Mission Lazarus, founded by an ACU graduate.
