The intention of revitaliatizing is to create a community space where people have the opportunity to gather everyday rather than once a week.

This project will add color, light, and life to the area creating a welcoming and vibrant space. It will also continue the lightly introduced topic of an aquaponics system to Rome, but in a more public and commercial way. This includes a food waste partnership with a local shelter to give back to the community that made this possible. In order to celebrate the future it is important to recognize the past so the gallery space will represent the flora and fauna around the river to bring back its history. Functionally this area will bring both a night and day life with a play aspect for families celebrated with color, light, and culture.

ADAPTIVE REUSE, HOMETOWN DESIGN, HISTORICAL, MULTI-USE

Our concept is to create a extended stay boutique hotel with a rooftop restaurant and bar. This concept is informed by an absence of boutique hotels, enhancing downtown vitality, and to celebrate the original architecture. The facade will stand as a testament to the city’s enduring heritage, inviting guests to step into a time-honored space where tradition meets modern architecture. We will implement material strategies, spatial strategies, and streetscape strategies to achieve this concept. We will be able to measure success by having a high occupancy rate and tracking restaurant sales.

INTENTION STATEMENT The Intention for this project was to bring back the deeper connection to the food we eat. I transformed the existing building into a space where people can come and learn about the crops that are grown in Nebraska and find a sense of belonging to the food that is grown and consumed in our state.

POP-UP SHOP FALL SEMESTER 2023

WEEK LONG CHARRETTE For this week long charrette, the team was tasked with creating a pop up retail space in Lincoln, NE. The parameters of the project including utilizing at least 2 but not more than 4 shipping containers in their proposal. Our team designed a fall pop-up shop highlighting Nebraska favorites. Vintage Husker gear is sold in two of the 4 containers, with the other 2 housing Runza, The Mill Coffee, Barry’s, and restrooms. With a Barry’s bar pop-up included, this space could be used to enrich the night life of students and residents.
