HOUSE SANJAYNAGAR - THE COURTYARD HOUSE

(Professional Project)

Location - Bangalore Size - 25,000 sq ft

In the north of Bangalore, this project, sanjay nagar,has a road on the north side and three sides with neighboring houses. Since the site only had 2,500 square feet, it was important that the house had a sense of openness. As shown in the elevation, the north side has the most openings with multiple inside-out windows creating multiple chajjas and a very interesting facade.By creating double height spaces and changing volumes, the courtyard makes the space dynamic in a subtle way.

THE HEALING HEARB - RE-THINKING WORKING SPACES

The project aims to create a symbiotic relatioship between man and nature. Healing Hearb is a project which questions the current conditions of working environment and visualise the space which enhances the aspects of sitting under a tree or in a forest.

CONCEPT DIAGRAM

From the acent of man weve been hampering nature but still Nature dint fail to contribute us in every way possible. The relationship between man and nature is beyond our senses. Imagine as a child in some way or the other one has interacted with nature. Like playing around a tree ,climbing it and going for treaking ,etc. All these experiences gave us energy and self-belonging ; in the environment we were in sync with nature. So taking all these aspects in mind and picking up these small experiences to incorporate in working spaces as our second home. Creating spaces that heal and keep you energised all day creating a relation ship of give and take.

The whole approach is to enhance their own homes and to be less labour in tensive i.e simpler,easier and efficient to his need and wants. Hence ,the idea of flexible and folding struc tures; to build a home in the least number of action and the least amount of physical input . The brief was to create a structure flexible and foldable in nature so as to save the amount time as well .as the physical input.

UNDERSTANDING LUCKNOW CITY

Architecture is inextricably related to peoples everyday life and present a wide spectrum of aspects that impacts peoples life and their perceptions of the surroundings. This is even more intense in urban environment as it offers multiple readings that can be explored. This year relative study programe explores neighbourhood in city with a focus on living habitats in different contexts. For a comprehensive understanding the study is also a precursor to the third year semester two architectural design studio , where design process and virtues of involved neighbourhood were discussed, to rethink an alternative approach for todays context. Culturally rich towns and cities, that offers expressions of past and present, will be the criteria for choice of study. After Shillong and Amritsar , third in the series is the Heritage city of Lucknow,offering rich heritage value, culture and lifestyle is predominantly manifested into the character of the city through time. We, the third year ites present before you Understanding the city of Tehzeeb - Lucknow.

SKIN SECTION of Goverment quarter near the Kasai Bazar .The land first belonged to Tobacco factory which gave employment to the people living in that surrounding area. After tobaco became illegal and factory getting shut down ,the goverment decided to buy the land and built goverment quarter for their workers.

MERAKI PAVILION 2018-2019 (Group work)

The thirst exploring the strengths and weaknessess of cycle rims as a building Material. We hereby present you a pavilion which is made up of 350 cycle rims.

The hands-on Experience providing us the esposure of how and when yo use this material within its full strengths.

Finally after 144hrs from seperating tires from heavy rusted rims,connecting rims with couplers to get

The sitting is made using a single surface of plywood in which the different shapes are cutout from load transfer and openable anywhere.

The idea of the tree house was to dig deep to the very roots of understanding the relation of humans and nature with the idea of knowing what was native to the land and the way people lived , As I analyzed the traditional warli painting of india to other Japanese , Chinese and all other sian painting to know what the life was during the time and how we interacted and had this relation of give and take with nature and The trees actually helped in shaping the shelder providing necessities to human beings and even more had positiuve impact on the

The rendered image captures the essence of being on the branch of the tree almost making you feel like a sparrow sitting on the branch ,creating a connection between the user and the central banyan tree as they experience being part of the ecosystem.

IN THE LAP OF THE TREE

The image shows how the house embraces the Banyan tree by creating a varanda below at a close human eye level to make the space humble. The varanda brings people together as it is part of the gathering space and the kitchen adjacent to it then opens up to the teak forest being endless as a colonade of trees extends with a mystery and a story to unravel and explore.
