It doesn’t matter what our situation may be. God can make a way. Sometimes we are so discouraged that our faith can’t be activated. We look at the situation and see all that’s going wrong, and from where we stand we can’t see it getting better. Be encourage God will make a way.

Naomi took a similar approach; she lost her husband and two sons in a foreign land. She was left with only her two daughters -in-law. The magnitude of her despair caused her to tell them to go back to their families and marry other husbands. She even changed her name to Mara because she felt the Lord had dealt bitterly with her (see Ruth 1:20). Orpah decided to return, but Ruth decided to stay with her and we later learnt that what was a seemingly impossibility, was transformed into a great love story and miracle where

Ruth married Boaz a kinsman and borne Obed. In the end it was declared in Ruth 4:14-15, “And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the LORD, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel. And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him.” This child later became the grandfather of King David. Isn’t God a Mighty God? Sometimes we don’t understand it but all we need to do is pray and allow Him to direct us. In 1Kings 17 we come across the story of the widow who had only a little meal and a cruse of oil. This was a period of famine so in her mind that was her last meal and she and her child would eat it and die. We then see how God sent the prophet Elijah to her to be sustained.

This to the natural eyes wouldn’t make any sense—she doesn’t have enough to sustain herself, how will she in addition sustain a grown man. But the man of God gave her a word. “Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after, make for thee and for thy son. For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth. .” Vs.13. The widow was obedient and the word of God was fulfilled. Our view of our situation is handicapped; we don’t see what God sees. So whenever in our lives we find ourselves in a bind, let us pray for God’s direction to the way. It will spare us some despair.

Holiness Part 3— Continued from Issues 1 and 2 Holiness means following God’s commands: “If you love Me then you will do My commandments.” Holiness separates us from un-

godliness. This does not mean that you don’t communicate with those that won’t live for God---- but we have to be mindful that we set the right examples and not be men pleasers. Following the commandments of God is not very popular and often distinguishes a

Christian. After the children of Israel were taken out of Egypt they were warned of their new home and how they should not enter into marriages with people outside their group. There was even a punishment for that. See Deuteronomy Chapter 7.

Holiness Part 3...cont’d

We also see in II Chronicles chapter 8, how Solomon took pharaoh’s daughter to wife and how he did not take her into David’s house because it was a holy house and the ark had been there. “And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of

the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the LORD hath come.” This leads one to believe that Solomon knew that he was not to be with her. And we will see as we read Solomon’s story how he was lead away to idols because of strange women. Likewise, we sometimes miss holiness because of disobedience and not following God’s commands.

Living Holy Distinguishes Righteousness from Unrighteousness We read in 2 Timothy Chapter 3 how it shall be in the last days. Verse 2 says “For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” these individuals are bearing unrighteous fruits and will be destroyed by the Master. But we also see in 1 Thessalonians: 1 how the apostles were examples unto the people and how when they

went to some new cities they did not even have to speak because they sounded out the word of the Lord. Vs 7-9: “So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true

God.” True holiness has to be living the Word of God- we cannot just accept mere parts of it. It is complete not partial- for our God is not partial. We are judged by the word of God so let us live and be distinguished according to it. Matthew 24 warns us that he that endureth to the end shall be saved. Let us not start a work and leave this great salvation. Step by step we will head for glory. Let us walk in righteousness.

Lest We Think its by Our Might…...

“Its not by might”

Sometimes in life we endeavor to do great and wondrous things in God. We often times try to do such through our own eyes not understanding that the true work is of God for it is to Him that the glory should be given. So we see young ministers, musicians and singers try to create a passage to extend their various ministries. While this in itself is not all together a bad thing, people might end up losing their way as they believe that the great

works they have done is of themselves. We should seek God first in all things. His ways are greater than our ways. Be assured if you have a good idea, God has a great one.

In Judges chapter 7, Gideon was about to battle the Midianites he had an army of thirty two thousand (32000) men but the Lord told Him that was too much. He was instructed to

send home all that were fearful and afraid. Twenty Two Thousand went home. There was now ten thousand and the Lord said that these were yet too many, so He brought them to the waters and tested them. In the end three hundred (300) men were used to destroy the Midianites. The number of the enemy camp was described as “like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the seaside for multi-

farfetched, but it is the best way. So let us trust Him and not just believe on our own understanding. Let God direct your path. He is mighty in all His works and only wants the best for you.

Likewise, many times God has to trim us of our resources that when we accomplish the work we know that it was of Him and glorify His name. Sometimes we are too crowded and He has to take some people away. We might not have noticed that these individuals were hindrances and that is why

we have to continually seek God in all that we do. God’s way might seem

Follow God’s lead. You may have been trying different things and everything backfired. He is saying, Trust HIM.

We must be Humble and Repent God saw that we would fall short and gave us a remedy under grace through the blood of Jesus Christ. “Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remissions of your sins.”(Acts 2:38) Without repentance there is no remission. Recently a man was dissatisfied with something his boss did and decided to tell her a piece of his

mind. He not only stopped there but he went around telling everyone what occurred as he thought it made him “the big man”. His Superior was left feeling humiliated since she had been compassionate in regards to the man’s salary and now decided that she won’t anymore and will be giving him what he truly deserves. He was no longer the mighty man but was now walking around the office

with a sad countenance. Because of pride however, he could not and did not bring himself to apologize, so the ruling remained as is. Likewise, many individuals will be sorry about the lifestyle they are living but because of pride will not accept the remedy for sin. The bible states that before the end – the gospel shall be preach in all the earth. There is therefore no excuse!

Continue in Holiness…. “He that endureth to the end the same shall be saved.” King Joash did that was right in the sight of the Lord upon till Jehoiada the Priest died. After all the wonderful things he did for the Lord—he somehow changed. He even went

on to kill the priest Jehoiada’s son Zechariah. He turned from God and God in turn forsook him. The morale of the story is, we have to continue in our holy walk and live for God day by day. It is not enough to say I did great things yesterday. We have to continue until our last

breath or until He comes. The story also brings out a picture that is present in most of our churches today when the leader passes on there is no one to continue and many times an entire generation is lost.

The Focus Message:

KERRYKAY PUBLICATIONS

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 Many times we get discouraged by our situations, and it becomes hard for us to see the good that God is doing for us. The Bible gives us numerous examples, but when faced with the challenges of life, it just seems like all we have learned is just a fantasy and not applicable to us. Today I want to declare to you this is not so. God loves you. Your situation is a molder to get you to your finished product.

We only need to trust God and maintain our integrity, as He always comes through for His people. We should take on the attitude of the three Hebrew boys, who believed that God would save them and even if He didn’t, that He was still God. We all have purposes; however we are not exempt from harsh situations. Christ Himself had to endure hardship to fulfill His purpose: “…Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again…” (Acts 17:3). Some of us, will suffer more than others, but be assured your later shall be greater. Use the lessons that you learn from your negative situations, to make yourself, your environment and those around you better. We are all a work in progress. Everyday is a new day to be better. The Focus of the A Better Me Newsletter is to do just that, encourage through our bad times. Bad times will come as there is a season to everything, but we were born with the ability to overcome such. Be strong and know that God is with you.
