THE CONTEMPORARY RESIDENCE

The Residence Project represents my vision for the future of residential architecture, where sustainable living, innovative design solutions, and a deep understanding of the occupants’ needs converge. My design philosophy revolves around the belief that a home is more than just a physical structure; it is a sanctuary that reflects the lifestyle and aspirations of its occupants. I prioritize functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability in every aspect of my designs, ensuring that each residence is tailored to the specific needs of its inhabitants while embracing the beauty of its surroundings.

The design of the project started in a rectangular form as it is most functional and it allows a effective space planning. The first floor is tilted to have better daylighting and ventilation. Adding vertical and horizontal louvers provide shading. The first floor is conncted using spiral staircase inside the building.

It typically incorporates modern elements and embraces a minimalist approach while prioritizing functionality. The exterior features a sleek and minimalist facade with clean lines, large windows, and a mix of materials such as glass, concrete, and metal accents. The design emphasizes open and fluid spaces, blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor areas.

GENERAL HOSPITAL DESIGN

An elevated public footpath, inspired by New York’s green High Line, leads to the hospital. Pedestrians can choose to walk up over and through the hospital complex. The footpath makes the building open, democratic and accessible to everyone. For example, you can follow the path onto the roof and enjoy the view without disturbing the wards.Their is a ramp which connects athe first floor directly without entering into the hospital for pedestrians. It is associated with vegetations along the sides of ramps. This is designed to avoid congestion of out-patient users and emergency users.

Portfolio | 2023 27

GROUND FLOOR PLAN

Therapy buildings with courtyards and landscaped gardens provide a carpet of greenery around the ward buildings, which look out over accessible green roofs. The hospital architecture blends human and natural elements consistently, indoors and outside, to create a healing architecture with focus squarely on the patient. The architectural design expression is therefore also based on a soft, organic and humanistic idiom. The hospital is designed horizontally due to height restrictions and for ease of access of patients and visitors.

SOUTH ELEVATION

The architecture of the hospital thus supports the healing of each patient.Surrounded by nature Nature and daylight will be fully integrated into the building and reflect the healing atmosphere of the scenic surroundings. To support the healing of each patient the wards at the top levels will have a view over the surrounding landscape or roof garden in the centre of the hospital. From the roof garden, the hospital is perceived as a two-storey complex. The hospital’s compact layout ensures maximum functionality for the staff, and short working distances.

MAJOR ISSUES

The site itself is a interaction place at early installation. Eventhough it is the main interactive place , its not attracting much of the people. Then it is illegally used for parking eventhought it is punishable activity. The pedestrains dont have enough seating or the seating is not maintained properly.

INTRODUCTION

As of now the population of india is 1.35 billion. Among 90% of the public transport covered by buses. Buses are an important tranport in india. Indian buses carrying roughly 70 million people per day. Buses are the most and cheapest mode of transport in which daily workers, school students, merchants, used to travel. Panicness is the word comes to the mind when we think of indian bus stands. We don’t see panicness in airport because the users are maximum well educated. In the case of indian bus terminals the users are uneducated which causes over crowding to get on the bus. In order to control them in this pandemic situation, the existing bus terminal is redesigned fully by the installation of new structures ,without affecting the existing structure. The panicness is solved by giving waiting area according to the destinations. In the waiting area itself the people should get thier tickets from the conducter in order to avoid the over crowding due to panicness and also guiding the uneducated people to their destinations.

THE SITE

The site is located in Sirkali, nagapattinam district, Tamilnadu. It is a tier 2 bus terminal which has the population around 53,000. Sirkazhi bus terminal is one of the top bus depot in Sirkali which is located in the center of the town. It covers upto a radius of 1 km of sirkazhi town.
