Polypropylene is finally biodegradable*
PrimaLoft® Bio™ technology enhance the biodegradation of polypropylene spunbond nonwovens and fibers.
A revolutionary breakthrough that offers a previously unattainable level of performance and biodegradability, reducing microplastics in our landfills and oceans, PrimaLoft® Bio™ is a first-of-its-kind technology and represents a critical component to a product’s lifecycle – a safety net should the product shed during laundering or end up in a landfill. It is simply designed to return to materials found in nature.

Hydro-degradable technologies
PrimaLoft ® Bio™ has been specifically designed to biodegrade* in the environments where the vast majority of plastics eventually find themselves.
According to 3rd party independent testig, PrimaLoft ® Bio™ PP Spunbond reached 25% biodegradation* in 263 days when exposed to an accelerated landfill environment. At the conclusion of this test, the sample has shown a relatively consistent rate of biodegradation (biogas continues to be produced), demonstrating that it has not leveled off yet and that the sample is continuing to biodegrade.

PrimaLoft ®Bio™ makes it easier for microorganisms to consume plastic, resulting in full biodegration*.
Let’s make microplastic a micro problem
PrimaLoft® Bio™ technology does not change the physical properties of PP materials.
This efficiently minimize micro plastic pollution, unlike OXO or UV degradation that creates microplastics in the presence of oxygen and sunlight and does not biodegrade.
Reduces the long-term impact of microplastic pollution
Resistant to the UV and OXO degradation
Tested in landfill, ocean water, soil and wastewater conditions
Scientifically tested and proven effect
Does not impact normal usage
PP spunbond advantages
Lightweight: PP Spunbond is lightweight, which makes it easy to handle and transport.
Breathability: The porous structure of PP Spunbond allows air to pass through the fabric, making it breathable.
Softness: PP spunbond can be manufactured to have a soft and smooth texture, making it comfortable to touch.
Strength and Durability: Despite its lightweight nature, PP spunbond is strong and durable. It exhibits good tear and tensil strength.
Chemical and Water Resistance: Polypropylene has inherent chemical resistance and is hydrophobic, meaning it repels water. As a result, PP spunbond exhibits excellent resistance to various chemicals and liquids.
Cost-effective: PP spunbond is relatively inexpensive to produce compared to other fabrics, such as woven textiles.
Versalility: PP spunbond can be easily customized and tailored to meet specific requirements. It can be produced in various weights, thicknesses, colors and surface treatments, enabling its use in a wide range of applications.
Environmentally Friendly: Polypropylene is a recyclable material, and PP spunbond fabrics can be recycled and reprocessed into new products. Additionally, as a lightweight material, it consumers fewer resources during transportation, contributing to lower energy consumption and reduced carbon footprint.

Why is PP spunbond well-suited for pocket spring mattresses?
PP spunbond is highly breathable, allowing for good air circulation within the mattress. This is important for maintaining a cool and comfortable sleep environment, as it helps to regulate body temperature and prevent excessive sweating during sleep.
The structure of PP spunbond fabric creates a barrier that helps to prevent the pnetration of dust mites, allergens, and other microscopic particles. This beneficial for induviduals with allergies or asthma, as it reduces the potential triggers that can disrupt sleep or cause allergic reactions.
PP spunbond is know for its strength and durability, making it an excellent choise for the production of pocket spring mattresses. The fabric can withstand the repeated compression and expansion forces that occor with regular use of the mattress, ensuring long-lasting performance and support.
PP Spunbond is flexible and can easily conform to the shape and movement of pocket spring within the mattress. The flexibility allows for optimal interaction between the springs and the fabric, ensuring proper support and comfort.
PP spunbond has inherent moisture-wicking properties, which means it can absorb and dissipate moisture effectively. This helps to keep the mattress dry and prevent the growth of mold, mildew, and odor-causing bacteria, contributing to a healthier sleep environment.
PP spunbond is resistant to stains and easy to clean. It can be spot-cleaned or wiped down with mild cleaning agents, allowing for easy maintenance and ensuring the mattress remains clean and hygienic over time.
