STAGING Time for a little reflection! When I started working for KMC I was single with no idea what it was like to have kids. Now, some 29 years later, I have been married for 26 years and my oldest son just got married. Wow, how time flies! So, what does a middle-aged guy do at his son’s wedding? He reflects on life and remembers all of those great memories of when his boys were young. The memories of their first helmet, their first bike and then the first time they were faster than me on a day out riding. The good ole days, and I will cherish every memory forever. Officially I only have two sons, but I consider myself lucky because I have been able to be a small part of so many young lives while at Kawasaki. I can remember the legends of our sport before they were legends. The days when they were just kids doing what they loved with a dream of making it big. Some did achieve those goals and others have achieved greatness in other ways. I love to see our old riders at the races and see the men and women that they have become. Some are industry icons, some are still living the dream as mechanics, drivers, coaches and trainers. Some are moms and dads themselves now. As we begin the 2014 season, I will look at the new faces of Team Green, whether it is our technicians or new riders, and start the process of building memories all over again. I hope the memories that they build will be as special as the memories that continue to grow in my mind of the great people that I continue to come in contact with.
