MANAGER’S CORNER

Dear TGO Community,

We are now just three days away from closing our golf course to begin the largest onetime improvement project TGO has ever completed. This Monday, April 15th our $4.2M golf course renovation project officially begins. Some preliminary work began earlier this Spring with the staging and fusing of irrigation pipe, and some forestry clearing of overgrown Brazilian Pepper along the course perimeters. The forestry clearing opens some beautiful new vistas on our golf course, and this work alone is beginning to reveal the types of visual improvements we can expect to see when the project is done.

For those who will be here at TGO during construction – We will be living and working in a construction zone from April – July when the bulk of heavy work will happen. There will be many inconveniences along the way, including many dump trucks on our roads, piles of staged materials, dirt and dust, the moving and beeping of heavy equipment, irrigation shut downs, etc. A heightened awareness of our safety and security is needed during this process. Please be patient! The golf course will be closed and off-limits to everyone but the construction crew and limited CSA staff. The contractors kindly ask that you do not talk directly to their workers while they work in the field. I will be in touch with the foreman and managers of the construction teams, and I will assist you with any concerns or questions. Simply call the CSA office or email me at manager@tgocsa.org .

For those who are NOT here at TGO during construction - I’m sure you’ll want to stay informed about the progress we are making on this exciting project. Chairman Cliff Creech and I will put weekly updates in the Chairman’s Notes and The Manager’s Corner in The Happenings. You will also find a recurring article, this week on page 6, which features more details about our progress. Aerial photos will certainly be the best way to see our progress. I’m working on an additional format for sharing these types of construction photos and videos. One of our owners, Frank Whitmore, took detailed drone photographs and video of our “old” golf course prior to construction, and soon we will identify a way to share the old and new photos. More to come in future issues of The Happenings.

Our community is in the Spring seasonal transition period when many of our residents are departing, or planning to depart, for their northern destinations. I always enjoy your calls, emails and visits to the CSA to check in with us before you leave, and say goodbye for now. We also appreciate you updating our records before departure. We want to make sure your “housewatch” person is listed in our files correctly while you’re away.

On a personal note, in the coming months you may see my name listed as a candidate for Titusville City Council, Seat #3. My family and I have made Titusville, FL our home for almost 20 years now. We love living here, and I am happy to serve the community that I love. The election will take place on August 20th. If elected, Council would become a part-time job in 2025, and it holds no conflict with my primary work as your manager because TGO is outside the Titusville city limits. I think serving on City Council will give me more perspective into my work as your CSA manager. I will certainly gain a better understanding and appreciation for the challenges our TGO Board deals with as they serve you in their elected role. In many ways, TGO is a small city in itself.

Sincerely,

FINAL PLAY DAY BEFORE RENOVATION BEGINS!

On Sunday, April 14th TGO will be hosting play for the final time before our scheduled renovation begins. A double shotgun start is planned for that day. The first group will tee it up at 8:30 AM, followed by a second group at 1 PM. This is being done in order to give as many players as possible the opportunity to play TGO one last time before the makeover begins. We will not have a formal “game” but will run an optional event for both segments for those with an established GHIN handicap. The format will be a better ball of a 2 player team. A blind draw for teams will be done by computer. Online scoring will be used for this event. Entry fee will be $10. Course fees for non-golf members will be $40 ($30 for TGO Residents) for the AM segment. $35 and $25 for the afternoon segment, plus sales tax.

• Sign up opportunities will only be available thru the golf shop.

• No online tee times will be available.

• Players are encouraged to sign up as a foursome.

• Optional game entry will be available at the same time.

• The tee off spots are open to all golfers until slots are full.

GOLF RENOVATION UPDATE

The renovation of the TGO golf course has started! Watch this page for updates.

As many of you have seen or heard the loud machines grinding away at the Brazilian pepper trees on the golf course. As of now they have completed holes 10,14,15,16 and 17.

The Brazilian pepper is an invasive plant to Florida and is native to the subtropical South America. These pepper trees represent a significant threat to Florida’s native plants and wildlife populations. These peppers form a dense forest that excludes all other plant life and form a bad habitat for native wildlife species. By removing these invasive species on the golf course, we are creating a better habitat for the native plants, wildlife and allowing better air flow throughout the golf course.

First Up: Irrigation Prep

Winterberry irrigation arrived at TGO on Monday 4/1 to begin the first step of the project. They began moving pipe throughout the golf course and fusing the pipe together. The pipe we are using is called High-density polyethylene pipe (HDPE). HDPE pipe and fittings are connected by a process called heat fusion. Using a fusion machine, the ends of the pipes being fused are held stationary.

A cutter blade trims the HDPE pipe facing ends and a heater plate is placed between the ends being connected. The heater plate is then removed, and the ends of the pipe are brought together by pressure and allowed to cool. They will be fusing pipes throughout the golf course into long sections depending on size of pipe.

Next: Placing Pipe

On Monday 4/8 we will start the process of directional boring the pipe underneath the roads and other areas throughout the golf course. It is important to have these pipes in place and ready to go by 4/15, that way they can immediately start the process of putting the pipe in place and setting up the new system.

What is Sulfation?

Sulfation, the accumulation of hard lead sulfate crystals, is the main reason for capacity and efficiency loss in lead-acid batteries. Sulfate crystals can develop rapidly, preventing your batteries from accepting a full charge.

Over time, sulfation crystals rob battery capacity. As a result, the battery needs more charge more often with a shorter runtime. As sulfation increases, so does your need to replace your batteries. Desulfate to reduce costs.

We Now Have the Capability to Reverse the Sulfation Process!

• Increase Your Battery Life-Span

• Return Lost Capacity to Your Used Batteries

• Keep Your Battery Pack(s) in Sulfate-Free Condition

• Save Money on Purchasing New Batteries

• We provide you a detailed health report for each battery

Emergency Vehicle Protocol

Florida and TGO share the same vehicle and traffic laws as the rest of the US: Everyone must yield to emergency vehicles. If there’s no shoulder on the road, simply stop to allow an emergency vehicle to pass. We have all been driving long enough to know this. Please, when you see emergency vehicles coming in with lights flashing, pull over and let them pass! It could be your loved ones they are here for.

Check Your Golf Cart’s Brakes

Brakes that do not function will be your only excuse as to why you did not stop at a stop sign.

Therefore, according to page 54 of our TGO’s Rules and Regulations of the road, you will be receiving a Traffic Citation for failure to obey a posted traffic sign.

TruGreen advises all TGO residents to stay off treated areas of your lawn, and to keep your pets off treated areas, until the application has thoroughly dried.

AED Basics (Automated External Defibrillator) Have Someone Call 9-1-1 While You Operate AED

The Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a portable electronic device that diagnoses incorrect heart rhythm patterns that could potentially be life threatening. The device treats the condition with electrical shocks.

AED use requires minimal training because an electronic voice prompts the user through each step. If you are helping a person who collapsed and you’re unsure if a heart attack is the reason, don’t hesitate to use the AED. Every minute counts. The device determines if the patient needs an electrical shock or not. Simply place the AED pads on the patient’s bare skin, one on the right upper chest and the other on their lower left side. No one else should be touching the patient because false readings could result. The AED will advise you, the device operator, what to do next.

TGO has seven AEDs located at CSA buildings.

COMMUNITY INFORMATION & NOTICES

CSA Trash Pick Up Rules

The CSA crew picks up household trash 364 days of the year (off for Christmas). You’ll see them in a big truck pulling one or more green hoppers behind it. The guy crouching on the hopper grabs your trash bag as they pass by. To make the process efficient, please follow these rules:

• Trash must be placed in plastic bags that are tied closed. Lightweight bags should be tied together. Trash that is not in plastic bags may not be picked up.

• Break down all boxes and put all packing material in a closed bag.

• Place trash within one foot of the road so that it’s within easy reach.

• Dispose of your pet’s waste inside the closed trash bag.

• Put trash out at the curb by 10:00 am - Pick-up time varies within the park.

• Do not mix household trash with organic yard debris or construction materials.

• Do not put trash out at night because by morning it will have been scattered by wild animals.

Please do not allow pets to urinate on trash or debris. The crew has to pick this up!

• Also be aware that if you place your trash out on the street too early, the vultures think you have prepared them a sack lunch!

CSA Yard Debris Pick-Up Rules

The CSA crew picks up organic yard debris at least once per week. Tree trimmings should be cut down to a maximum of 4 feet long, weigh less than 50 pounds, and be stacked uniformly at the curb. Loose material such as pine needles, leaves and small twigs must be collected in untied plastic bags or open containers. The CSA will not pick up sod, dirt, tree stumps, construction material (e.g., concrete, wood, drywall, metal), chemicals (e.g., paint, oil), major appliances, or tires. DO NOT bring these items to the CSA Maintenance Yard yourself. They may be dropped off, without charge, at the Brevard County Mockingbird Mulching Facility (321-264-5009) on South Street (SR405). Go past the Lowes SR405 entrance then turn LEFT at the first traffic signal. Most other waste items such as carpet, porcelain plumbing fixtures, etc., that are not mentioned above can be dropped off at the Brevard County Transfer Station (321-264-5048) that is also on South Street (SR405), but 0.5 mile past Lowes on the same side of the street.

Clearing Vegetation on CSA Property

Our Declaration of Covenants states that “No CSA land may be cleared of any vegetation without prior written permission from the Board of Directors or its designee. Unauthorized clearing of CSA property will result in a hearing, with possible fines and ordered replanting.” This only makes sense, as you would not cut vegetation on someone else’s property without permission first. In order to track this better, we will require anyone seeking permission to cut vegetation on CSA property to fill out an ARC permit. An approved permit must include the CSA manager’s signature, and a copy of the permit will be filed in your ARC file for documentation purposes.

Guide to Living With Alligators in TGO

There are 32 lakes in The Great Outdoors and all of them are home to alligators. Please keep these points in mind to be safe when alligators could be nearby:

• It is illegal to feed, taunt or harass an alli gator.

• Do not swim or wade in any of our lakes.

• Do not walk near the shorelines and do not walk your pets near the shoreline.

• Do not allow your pets to swim, exercise or drink in or near our lakes.

• While alligators can be active at any time, they are most active between dusk and dawn and move during the night to different water sources.

• Please give our alligators the respect and space they deserve. NOTE: If you come across an aggressive alligator, please contact the CSA Office prior to SNAP and allow us to handle any situation.

KEEP YOUR DISTANCE!

If you have any questions about alligators, or any animals within TGO, please call:

18 THE HAPPENINGS

Yikes! Here Come The Caterpillars!

So What’s the Buzz?

Florida’s got a hairy situation! If you’ve been near oak trees lately, chances are you’ve bumped into these fuzzy troublemakers—tussock moth caterpillars. They’re like the uninvited guests crashing the spring party and you may have seen some around The Great Outdoors, recently.

Why Should You Care?

These critters are on the rise, and it’s not just because they love the Florida sun. They have a high tolerance for the hot weather and, thanks to global warming, they’re feeling right at home here in Florida! While they don’t wreck trees like a leafy Godzilla, their cousins up north have caused some serious defoliation drama.

Meet the Tussocks!

Picture this: a furry parade of three—the fir tussock , the white-marked tussock , and the definite tussock . They’re like the rock stars of the caterpillar world, but with spiky hairs that’ll make you itch just by looking at them.

Here’s what they look like:

• The fir tussock moth: orange-colored spots along the back and sides

• The white-marked tussock moth: lighter body color and yellow spots

• The definite tussock moth: yellow or tan head with a pale body, hair pencils and tussocks

According to the Florida Museum of Natural History, the fir tussock is the most common, the white-marked is the second most common and the definite is the rarest of the three. These colorful and hairy caterpillars hatch from eggs in late February or early March, and by early April they mature and disperse cocoons.

Typically dispersed on homes, park benches, and other outside articles, the cocoons are hard to remove and contain hairs from the caterpillars that can irritate the skin and cause an itchy, burning sensation.

Handle with Care!

Word to the wise: don’t go hugging these critters. Their hairs are like tiny spears aiming for your skin. And if you accidentally boop one, here’s the drill: place some tape on the area, pull, wash, and a sprinkle of baking soda for good measure. Think of it as a one-day adventure in itchiness.

Garden Wars: Caterpillar Edition

If your garden feels under siege, fear not! You can fight back with insecticides or go old-school with a broom and bucket. It can be as easy as sweeping them up and dropping them into a bucket of soapy water. Just watch out for those sneaky cocoons—they’re like tiny landmines for your skin.

The Great Floridian Standoff

So here we are, Floridians facing off against nature’s own furry fiends. But fear not, for as quickly as they come, they’ll soon vanish. So, hold onto your hats and guard your gardens, for the tussocks are here to party—and they’re not sticking around for long!

THE HAPPENINGS 19

TGO FIREWISE INFORMATION

RESIDENTS REDUCING WILDFIRE RISKS

The Fire Threat From Within

Lightning strikes are the primary cause of wildfires. Several years ago, a fast moving front, driven by 50-mile per hour winds, produced hundreds of cloud-to-ground strikes in Brevard County. During a 10 second mini-moment in the storm, 5 blinding spears of pure lightning energy slammed into the wildland just north of the TGO entrance on SR 50. Not a single wildfire was ignited! The weather conditions were not favorable for ignition and spread.

Less than a week earlier, at 2am, a fifth wheel burned to the ground on Oak Cove…no wind, no rain, stars out; beautiful night. Neighbors reported gunshots: the tires were blowing out. The family and their guests escaped in their pajamas. Brevard County Fire Rescue responded from Station 24 (our friends) in 8 minutes and extinguished what was left of the fifth wheel and the golf cart that had been parked under the overhang. There wasn’t much left to put out. The golf cart batteries were dry and were on charge. Heat built up. Golf carts burn quickly and so do fifth wheels as well as park homes, executive suites, etc..

The good news is that no one was injured, including our emergency responders, and no neighboring property was burned. The bad news is that a home, its contents and important papers were destroyed.

What significant lessons can we all learn from this?

First off, lightning strikes are not always associated with a storm. They can come from an apparently clear sky: “a bolt out of the blue”. Whether they start a blaze or cause an electrocution depends on many factors, some of which you can control.

In respect to the golf cart/fifth wheel fire:

1. Keep water in your golf cart batteries.

2. Maintain your property in a “firewise-safe” condition: 30 foot defensive zone, rain gutters clear, eliminate “ladder fuels”, maintain lean, clean, and green conditions. Visit

4TH ANNUAL SPRING CUP

THE B3’S ARE VICTORIOUS!

The 4th Annual Men’s Spring Cup competition took place on March 29th and 30th. Sixty four players in their respective team uniforms took to the fairways in a Ryder Cup style format.

Roy Houtby captained the Rockin Rebels while the B3’s were represented by Rob Hunter. After a spirited day of team play the B3’s found themselves on top by a slim 5 point margin. The singles matches on Saturday saw quite a few point swings and with 5 matches left to be decided the tally was dead even. That all changed with a late surge by the B3’s that left the Rockin Rebels in the dust. The final tally was B3’s 79, Rockin Rebels 65. All that remained with the trophy presentation to winning captain Rob Hunter, the popping of champagne and the ceremonial serving of a steak dinner by the Rockin Rebels to the victorious B3’s along with the customary exchange of gifts.

Needless to say, a great time was had by all. Congrats to the B3’s. Many thanks to both Captains, Rob Hunter and Roy Houtby, for making the event such a great success.

A Bold Step Forward

The Brevard Zoo Aquarium Project

Nestled in the heart of Brevard County, the Brevard Zoo is a fully independent, 501(c)3 nonprofit that has long been a beacon of conservation, education, and community engagement. For nearly four decades, the East Coast Zoological Foundation (ECZF), the nonprofit entity behind the zoo, has worked tirelessly to answer the call for wildlife, waterways, and people. Now, with an exciting new venture on the horizon, the Brevard Zoo is poised to embark on its most ambitious project yet – the Brevard Zoo Aquarium Project.

THE AQUARIUM PROJECT represents a bold step forward in the zoo’s mission to celebrate and protect the natural wonders of Central Florida, particularly the iconic Indian River Lagoon. This 14-acre conservation center and aquarium, to be located at Port Canaveral, will serve as a testament to the community’s unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and wildlife conservation. As anticipated groundbreaking approaches in Fall of 2024, Brevard Zoo is working to ensure everyone in the region knows what they are building, why they are building it, and how to get involved.

The focal point of the Brevard Zoo’s Aquarium Project is the Indian River Lagoon – one of the most biodiverse estuaries in all of North America. Stretching 156 miles along Florida’s eastern coast, the lagoon is renowned for its ecological significance, serving as a vital habitat for more than 4,000 species of plants and animals and providing billions of dollars in economic impact throughout the region.

However, despite its diverse beauty, the Indian River Lagoon faces an array of threats, including pollution from storm water, sewer, and septic tank discharges, loss of vital habitats and beneficial organisms like mangroves and oysters, and the rapid development that has outpaced environmental regulations and infrastructure upgrades for decades.

Over the years, these pressures have taken a toll on the lagoon’s delicate balance, endangering the health of its inhabitants, and jeopardizing its future. Recognizing the urgent need for action, the Brevard Zoo and ECZF have been at the forefront of efforts to protect and restore the lagoon, partnering with local organizations and stakeholders to implement community driven conservation initiatives.

Since first opening its gates in 1994, as a triumph of community engagement built by over 16,000 volunteers, Brevard Zoo has grown to an internationally recognized force for animal wellbeing

and environmental stewardship. Central to its mission of helping wildlife and people thrive is the restoration and protection of the Indian River Lagoon, a cause the zoo has championed for decades.

Restore Our Shores

Through initiatives like the Restore Our Shores program, Brevard Zoo has worked tirelessly, planting native vegetation, restoring native filter feeders like oysters and installing living shorelines to combat erosion and improve water quality. The zoo’s Sea Turtle Healing Center has played a crucial role in rehabilitating injured and sick sea turtles, while its conservation breeding programs have stretched further throughout Florida helping safeguard endangered species like the Florida Grasshopper Sparrow and Perdido Key Beach Mouse. Brevard Zoo isn’t just a place to observe wildlife; it’s a catalyst for positive change, inspiring visitors to become active participants in conservation efforts.

Through collaborative projects in habitat restoration, water quality monitoring, and wildlife rehabilitation, the zoo has demonstrated its unwavering commitment to preserving the lagoon for future generations. Now, with the launch of Our Legacy Campaign, the comprehensive $100 million campaign to continue Brevard Zoo’s growth and raise capital for the future Aquarium, the zoo is poised to deepen its impact, creating a hub for education, research, and conservation efforts focused specifically on the Indian River Lagoon and surrounding waterways.

State-Of-The-Art Conservation

The Brevard Zoo Aquarium Project will see the creation of a state-of-the-art Aquarium and Conservation Center dedicated to celebrating and protecting the Indian River Lagoon, its inhabitants and the communities who live, play, and work along our coastal waterways. Located in Cape Canaveral on a 14-acre site overlooking the Banana River, the Aquarium will serve as a beacon of hope, educating and inspiring visitors to become stewards of their local waterways.

At the heart of the Aquarium will be the Dr. Duane De Freese Coastal Conservation Hub, a three-story facility named in honor of the renowned advocate for the Indian River Lagoon. This hub will serve as a nexus for research, education, and collaboration, bringing together scientists, educators, and community members to address the pressing challenges facing the lagoon and its ecosystems. Through innovative exhibits, interactive displays, and immersive experiences, visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of conservation and the role they can play in protecting our planet’s precious resources.

WHY SHOULD RESIDENTS BE EXCITED?

The Brevard Zoo Aquarium Project isn’t just a new attraction; it’s a driver for change, a symbol of hope, and a testament to the power of community-driven conservation. Here are just a few of the reasons we think everyone should be excited about this transformative project:

1. ENGAGING EDUCATION: The Aquarium will offer unparalleled educational opportunities for residents of all ages, from school children to lifelong learners. Through hands-on experiences and informative exhibits, visitors will gain a newfound appreciation for the beauty and complexity of Central Florida’s Atlantic coast.

2. ECONOMIC IMPACT: The Aquarium is not only an investment in conservation but also in the local economy. Anticipated to attract over 500,000 visitors annually, the project will have a significant economic impact, generating millions in revenue and supporting hundreds of jobs within the region.

3. ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP: By supporting the Brevard Zoo Aquarium Project, local residents are investing in the future of their community and the health of their natural surroundings. The Aquarium will serve as a vital resource for conservation efforts, providing funding, expertise, and a platform for collaboration.

4. COMMUNITY PRIDE: The Aquarium will be a source of pride for the entire community, showcasing the best of what the Space Coast has to offer and inspiring residents to take action to protect their local environment. It will be a place where memories are made, connections are forged, and lasting change is initiated.

By connecting visitors with the complexity and beauty of our coastal estuaries, fostering a deeper appreciation for the surrounding world and teaching universal lessons of waterway stewardship, the Brevard Zoo Aquarium Project has the power to inspire meaningful change and ensure a brighter future for the Indian River Lagoon and the wildlife and people who rely on this irreplaceable natural resource. As the vision for the Aquarium continues to take shape, residents can look forward to a new era of discovery, education, and conservation on Florida’s Space Coast.

If you are interested in being part of this project, we encourage everyone to consider “diving in” to the campaign by sharing your excitement with friends and family, making tax-deductible donations, and/or volunteering to help spread awareness around this monumental undertaking. Those interested in supporting can email Brevard Zoo’s Community Engagement Officer, Zach Marchetti, at zmarchetti@brevardzoo.org or visit www.ourlegacycampaign.org to learn more.

A Short History of the RV

The RV is an integral part of life at The Great Outdoors and USA Culture!

The Evolution of the RV: A Journey on Wheels

The recreational vehicle, or RV, is an iconic symbol of travel freedom and adventure on the open road. But how did these rolling homes on wheels come to be? Let’s take a quick trip through time to explore the history of the RV.

EARLY BEGINNINGS: The roots of the RV can be traced back to the early 20th century when adventurous souls began modifying automobiles to include sleeping and living quarters. These early “auto campers” were often nothing more than makeshift beds and rudimentary cooking facilities squeezed into the back of a vehicle. Nonetheless, they provided travelers with newfound mobility and independence.

THE RISE OF THE MOTORHOME: In the 1920s and 1930s, the RV industry began to take shape with the introduction of factory-built trailers and motorhomes. Companies like Airstream and Spartan began producing sleek, aerodynamic trailers that could be towed behind cars and trucks. Meanwhile, manufacturers like Pierce-Arrow and Ford offered motorhomes with integrated living spaces, complete with beds, kitchens, and bathrooms—introducing the RV as we know it today!.

POST-WAR BOOM: The RV industry experienced a surge in popularity following World War II as returning soldiers sought new ways to explore the country with their families. Innovations in manufacturing techniques and materials led to the development of larger, more luxurious RVs, equipped with modern amenities such as refrigerators, stoves, and toilets. Trailer parks and campgrounds sprung up across the nation, providing travelers with convenient places to park and stay overnight.

THE GOLDEN AGE: The 1960s and 1970s marked the golden age of the RV, with manufacturers introducing a wide range of models to suit every budget and lifestyle. From compact campers to spacious motorhomes, there was something for everyone. Iconic brands like Winnebago and Fleetwood became household names, synonymous with the freedom of the open road.

MODERN INNOVATIONS: Today, the RV industry continues to evolve with advances in technology and design. Modern RVs boast state-of-the-art features such as solar panels, touchscreen controls, and smart home integration. Lightweight materials and efficient engines make RVs more fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly than ever before. And with the rise of remote work and digital nomadism, more people than ever are embracing the RV lifestyle as a way to live and work on their own terms. 40 THE HAPPENINGS

FROM THE (NEW) EDITOR

Hello TGO Community!

I’m Greg Wostrel and you probably noticed the last month’s article about me and the change in The Happenings team. I officially started on April 1st and, because Tim and Cindy have been hugely generous with their time, I was able to hit the ground running. Also, I have only met a few of you so far and I am hugely grateful for the warm, encouraging, and supportive welcome from everyone.

My goal is simple: to continue making The Happenings an important part of life at The Great Outdoors by sharing important information, articles about intertesting residents, notices for upcoming events, and pages all about goings-on in the community!

Since I am not a resident and on-site, please feel free to reach out to me if you have something you’d like to see in an issue, want to let me know about something happening, need to have some photos taken, or...anything at all.

email: happenings@tgocsa.com

phone: 401-286-9228

I am truly delighted to be a small part of TGO life and look forward to meeting more of you!

Welcome to the New Age of Stretch!

Thanks to the modern sedentary lifestyle, after 30, most people start losing flexibility at an average rate of 1% a year. Strains and micro-stresses on your muscles compounded over time can glue them together. This “glue,” or scar tissue, tightens the surrounding tissue and restrains how you’re able to move. Over time, the snowballing loss of flexibility ages you. Stretch Zone’s isolation of individual muscles within a muscle group breaks up the glue, unwrapping the stranglehold on your posture and valuable energy. Proper stretching slows down the aging process. You will feel younger by improving posture, circulation, and increasing your range of motion.

For a FREE 30 minute session, please give us a call: Stretch Zone in Titusville: 321- 567 4085

Funny Thing Is… Violating the Law of Gravity!

My New Year’s Resolution this year was to give up gravity. Yep I’ve had enough of it. Too much in fact. If it wasn’t for gravity I would be playing golf today. You golfers know what worm burners are but for those who don’t, that’s where you can’t get the ball off the ground. Not my fault (or is it?), I’m blaming gravity. Getting rid of gravity would be such a weight off my shoulders. Hey gravity is like a bad joke, people fall for it all the time. I know I do, especially when navigating around furniture. Not my fault (or is it?) Nope, I’m blaming gravity.

OK I know you can’t just give up gravity but can we reduce it a little. On the moon the gravity is only 1/6 of that on earth. I’m good with that. I would go back to playing sports. I could slam dunk a basketball, hit a tee shot hundreds of yards in golf, and would have to change my name to Homer for my baseball skills. If I landed on the moon I would only weigh 30 pounds. You know what I would do first? Hot fudge sundae. Anybody with me? I wonder if the whole reason for the Apollo Program was to escape gravity. Well think about it. Alan Shepard, possibly the greatest space hero of all time, went to the moon on Apollo 14. Oh yeah I remember all the talk about discovering the history of the universe but what did he do on the moon? He dropped a couple of golf balls and hit the greatest sand shots in history. One of my buddies told me he was reading a book about anti-gravity and just couldn’t put it down. Duh. You ever hear someone talking about the “Gravity of the situation.” That’s never good news so how can gravity be good? You know if it wasn’t for gravity we wouldn’t need rockets, airplanes, underwire bras, or stain free carpets. Life would be so much simpler. I’m usually a very law abiding citizen but I think in 2024 I’m gonna find a way to violate the Law of Gravity. -Dr. Sammy-
