Since our partnership with CarePortal started in 2020, over 4,300 kids have been impacted!

CarePortal is an online prevention platform that links churches and community members to the tangible needs of vulnerable families. Whether it’s a single mother of two in need of a new bed, or a father of three that just lost his job and needs assistance with groceries, CarePortal is helping keep kids at home and out of the foster care system. Check out a few recent requests that some of our 4KIDS Church Partners stepped up to meet and bless these families.

In Broward County , the family member of a child being removed from his parents was eager to step up to love and care for him, but needed a few critical supplies before they could be approved to open up their home. A request for a toddler bed frame, mattress, and dresser was submitted in CarePortal, and soon after, a member of Rio Vista Church in Fort Lauderdale responded, offering to provide all of the requested items! We’re thrilled that this kiddo now gets to be in a safe, fully furnished home with a relative!

A mother of a 1-year-old boy in Collier County was hospitalized for several weeks due to a complicated pregnancy, causing her to lose her job. Her baby was born premature, and after being in the NICU for two months, the mother was in desperate need of a specific formula for her baby, special diapers, and other essential infant items in order to bring him home. A request for these items was made on CarePortal and a member of Summit Church was able to provide the formula and diapers so that this mother can care for her child.

There’s power when the community rallies together to strengthen caregivers who love their children but have simply fallen on hard times. We can’t wait see how prevention-based efforts like CarePortal will continue to change the landscape of child welfare across our region.
