MAYA DUNSKY A multidisciplinary artist, a painter, Butoh dancer, and choreographer. In my art works there is a tension between "identified" to abstract and between endless charged expanses, to defined matter. In the continual DRESS series [since 2012], I persistently driven by deep fascination about the tension which exists in the range between beauty and loss and by the relations in between the pagane and the urbane. The Dress resonates as a landscape, in which a female figure, as energy, appears and vanishes. The dress resonates as a persona, an identity, an entity, energy, being. “She” as a testimony evokes reminiscence, loss, abundance, a missing presence. The Dress remembers the one who walked away, remembers a woman that forgot…A naked dress….and at the same time a silent, powerful presence that contains spirit and motion, being treasured in secrecy. Each dress turns to a universal substance that carries intimacy and individuality while serves as a gate into layers of realities and non-linear times. The Dress is a mirror placed in front of the beholder and reflects an inner culture, mindset and soul. The absence imprints its statement, melts into the garment and constantly reverberates. My art works are being exhibited in Israel & abroad and are found in museums & privet collection in Israel, New-York, Tokyo, Paris, Basel and Berlin. mandun@bezeqint.net www.mayadunsky.com
