Get to know: Dave Iverson

In this edition, lets get to know Dave Iverson, Vice President Customer-Enabling.

Achievements

Where do you live? I live in New Prague, MN, USA and work from the St. Paul, MN USA Center.

How long have you worked for 3M? As of August I have been with 3M for 31 awesome years.

What have you felt most proud of accomplishing? First and most of all, my family, Mitzi, Austin (Jordan), and Emma (Bryce). Professionally there have been so many awesome accomplishments with folks – too many to name and I would fear forgetting something. Lot’s of great team accomplishments along the last three decades for sure – so thankful and proud of all I have had a chance to work with along the way!

What is your hidden talent? I am the only person in Minnesota to complete the “Triple Lindy” off a pontoon boat… Just kidding… I do, however, have a wealth of meaningless knowledge tucked away about 1970s and 1980s hard rock and outlaw country music trivia…. And I like to think I’m pretty good at restoring things…

Tell us about your family, who you live with? It’s just Mitzi and me at home now that the kids have grown and are off into their own careers – of course we have our doggos: Teddy, Louie and Reggie.

Would you Rather – winter or summer for the rest of your life and why? Winter, no mosquitos.

What things do you enjoy doing in your spare time? Spending time with my family or friends around home or at the cabin – just the best – boating, fishing, side by side riding, and… Riding snowmobiles… Restoring snowmobiles… Racing snowmobiles…. Anything with a snowmobile – perhaps my vice….

If money was no issue at all, what would you buy? 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback – this was my first car. It was a 302 4V car for you enthusiasts, not a big block car. My dad and I restored it in high school and then I sold it to go to college.. Wish I could locate it.

Please share with us your favorite joke. I am incredibly serious and don’t believe in jokes…. LOL – I’m always good for what they call a “Dad joke” or two: “do you know what’s really odd? numbers not divisible by two.. or, I wanted to buy some camo pants, but couldn’t find any… or, my wife told me to stop acting like a flamingo, so I had to put my foot down… or… why don’t we see elephants hiding in trees, because they’re really good at it… “

After a few years in external engineering roles, I’ve now been at 3M for 34 years with most of that time in sales, marketing, & business management. I’m a dual citizen (US & Canada) and married with 3 adult children. I’ve had the opportunity to work for 3M in Canada, the US, and China. I live very close to a big park where I can run, fat tire bike, or ski.

Hello everyone, I’m Marce based in Bogotá Colombia. I’m happily married to Jorge (former 3Mer) and we have two children Juan Jacobo 12 and Julieta 8.

I’ve been with 3M 23 years, started as an intern in Customer Service and had roles in different areas such as manufacturing, supply chain, customer operations (former BSO), change management and Lean Six Sigma, former Black Belt and Master black belt. What I love about working for 3M, is its people and the ethics of the company!

MTDE Digital Operations

During August, Dave Iverson was able to travel EMEA and visit both our UK site in Bracknell and our Wroclaw site in Poland to meet with the Customer Enabling teams. The visit was a great opportunity for Dave to meet with ECO CE teams, conduct an AP planning workshop around priorities for the balance of 2023 and through 2024, gain feedback about communications and also recognize the accomplishments that have already been achieved. Thank you so much to the teams in the UK and Poland for hosting his visit!

Order Now Workshop in Brazil

On 10th-12th July, OTC Brazil team hosted Ross Burrows, Global OTC Samples and Order Management SME, to facilitate a workshop about the new order entry tool for Sales Reps.

Order Now is a new tool, that will be responsible for 50% of order entry volume for Brazil. It’s development is completed globally, with the leadership of Ross and includes a big impact from Brazil.

There is a big multi-functional team working locally for the deployment, that includes representatives from many areas of Customer Operations and Business and as the core team; Nilton Banov, Marina Morato and Thiago Miranda from Order Management, Julio Menegaldo from CRM, Renato Konda from CODA, Patricia Gardin, Maristela Aragão, Luciana Rugani e Raquel Santos from Customer Service and the leadership of Heloisa Ruppert from Process Optimization.

All the team have worked hard to ensure a successful End to End process for the pilot implementation, exchanged ideas and performed tests. It was very important to have Ross in Brazil to understand our needs and our processes and also the total focus of the team helped us guarantee the successful pilot implementation of this important tool!

OTC Argentina Team - Quick Response to Sudden New Import Tax

Due to the sudden imposition of a new 7.5% tax on imported goods in Argentina, a decision to increase prices immediately became critical for 3M businesses.

I want to thank and recognize the team for swarming this challenge and suspending the order shipment/billing process from Friday, July 21 at 7 pm until Monday, July 24 at 11 pm

for customers in 3M Argentina. I understand that your actions included:

1) Actions to hold orders in the legacy system and avoid unusual purchase behavior from Customers at “old” pricing;

2) Creating a notification that informed customers of a temporary delay;

3) Coordinated with M&SC teams to suspend regular pick and pack process at DC;

4) Reviewed on-hold orders to release only critical orders for key customers, to avoid business/process disruption; and,

5) Aligned with Commercial Centers the strategy and actions needed to approve & update prices to the open orders and apply new list prices.

From September 11th to 8th

AEST, ECO teams will journey together from Chicago to New York in the Global Get Moving Challenge. Over 630 people have joined the challenge across 93 teams. Each team member enters their daily activity which contributes to the steps of the journey. This journey is over 2 million steps and via 6 milestones. To those on the journey, enjoy the connection with your team members and keep up being active!!

MTDE Supervisors Session: Conducting ‘Stay’ Interviews

The MTDE People & Culture team run regular Supervisor Sessions featuring various themes. Recently, supervisors came together to learn more about conducting ‘Stay Interviews’ with our people. Key messages included;

The importance of understanding the reasons why people stay at 3M, taking intentional action, and making positive changes within your control. The content was very well received. For more information about this activity please contact Terri Peterson.

Customer Facing Americas: USAC United with another great update

In September of 2023, Customer Service in USAC will be launching a new SharePoint that will house all of our relevant communications, training documentation for CSR's as well as how we manage our accounts, a calendar of upcoming events and so much more. The project team members have turned themselves into experts on SharePoint as they've navigated through this project. They have collaborated with developers in Costa Rica, and other functions within Customer Service, and are developing this repository that will transform how we access job related information, customer interaction information, and best practices the organization as a whole can benefit from. These intrepid voyagers have learned about SharePoint in a way few in our organization have been able to and the results speak for themselves.

“I want to recognize and convey my appreciation for the work you have done as a team that bridges all members of the USAC Customer Service team to design and build the “USAC United” SharePoint site. While I understand this will be formally launched later this month, it is a clear example of collaboration that embodies the “ONE ECO” spirit. I have learned that this will be used to house information critical to the USAC CSR community such as corporate and BG communications, leadership training aids, information on systems and processes, and connections to BG resources. Information that has previously been linked or assembled from various locations will be consolidated into this one site for easier access. This will be the single repository of CSR knowledge going forward. Well done to each of you and THANK YOU” From Trent Blinkman
