At the Kiwanis Miso Soup Breakfast project to help our Kiwanis raise funds, volunteers arrived at 6 a.m. to help set up. There was a lot to do in the beginning, from arranging tables to preparing food stations, but everything came together quickly with teamwork. After setup, volunteers spent the rest of the event packing food and serving warm bowls of miso soup. It was a smoothandsuccessfuldaywithplentyofdine-ins,which madetheexperienceevenbetter.Everyonestayedbusy andpositive the entire time, and the eventranefficientlyfrom starttofinish.Helpingout with something that brought the community togetherwasmeaningful and showed strong support for the Kiwanis mission. This was a well-organized, fun, and rewarding project—one that would be great to participate in again in thefuture.

The Charity Mile Hike was a hike we held at the Makawao Forest Reserve. We had 4 members where we hiked through the forest trail which was 6 miles long. During this hike we took brakes and talked about varioustopics.Thiseventwas a great bonding as we took in the beauty of nature and connected with each other during the hike. I hope that in the future we continue to do more hikes as it is very beneficial for people to get outsideandenjoynature.

The Augie T concert Setup, in collaboration with AARP, took place on June 19, 2025. Key Club members volunteered by helping move tables, set up chairs, and tie the chairs together with twine to keep them in place. Although there were only a few members available, the team worked efficiently and finished the setup quicker than expected. For this project, Maui High’s Key Club partnered up with our local HumaneSociety for two days. On the first day, we assisted at the Chip N Chill Veterinary Wellness Clinic, where our members helped set up tents for each station. The first station was for traffic control, where two of our members directed cars. The second station was for the dogs, where members assisted with transporting the dogs out from the vehicle to the tents to receive their vaccination. The third tent was for the cats, where members also helped with transporting the cats out from the vehicle to the tents. On the second day, we helped with Meet The Fosters Adoption, where our members help prep the yards for the foster pup’s arrival, then provide further assistance with the puppies and guests. This event was a huge success, as we had 15 members who participated in total and it should be done again!
