YMCA SWIM FOR LIFE

WATER SAFETY SKILLS

This fall, we’re making a big splash by hosting free Swim for Life sessions at the East Triangle YMCA in Clayton. The YMCA’s Swim for Life program teaches essential water safety skills through a series of sessions designed to reduce the risk of drowning and build confidence in and around water.

To make Swim for Life possible, we rely on volunteers from our community. It’s not necessary to be a swimming professional, we just ask that volunteers are comfortable in the water and have some swimming experience.

Have a new child on the way, or switching vehicles and want to ensure the car seat is installed correctly? Flowers Plantation is excited to announce the first of several new safety driven programs that we will be offering to residents. If you would like your car seat checked, at no charge to the residents, please reach out to our Community Safety Director, Ryan Jordan at ryan@flowersplantation.com. He is a state certified Child Passenger Seat Technician and will be glad to show you the proper installation guidelines and go over any questions you may have. What is the number one piece of advice for car seats? Ryan says “One of the most important things we can do as caregivers is ensure the child is buckled correctly each and every time, and keep them rear facing for as long as possible as that drastically reduces the number of injuries in a collision.”
