SPOOKY, SAFE, AND SPECTACULAR

Flowers Public Safety’s Halloween Tips

Halloween in Flowers is one of the most anticipated nights of the year. The streets come alive with costumed kids, friendly neighbors, and glowing decorations. It’s a night filled with excitement, but safety should take center stage. At Flowers Public Safety, we want every family to enjoy the holiday without any scary surprises, except the fun kind. Here’s our guide for a safe and memorable Halloween.

For Trick-or-Treaters & Families

Be seen. Choose bright costumes, add reflective tape, and carry glow sticks or flashlights. Travel smart. Younger children should go with an adult; older kids should stick to a planned route with friends. Stay trip-free. Make sure costumes aren’t too long, choose comfortable shoes, and swap masks for face paint to keep vision clear. Check candy first. Wait until you’re home to eat treats and toss anything unwrapped or suspicious.

For Drivers

Slow down. Drive below the speed limit in neighborhoods, especially from 5:30–9:30 PM. Stay alert. Watch for kids crossing streets or stepping out from between parked cars. No distractions. Keep phones down & attention on the road.

For Homeowners

Light it up. Keep porches and walkways well-lit. Clear the way. Remove cords, decorations, or anything that could cause tripping. Secure pets. Keep animals indoors and away from the front door during peak trick-or-treat times.

Extra Tips

• Set a curfew or check-in times for older kids.

• Only visit homes with porch lights on.

• Dress warmly. October nights can be chilly.

The Spirit of Halloween in Flowers

Halloween is more than candy, it’s a time for neighbors to connect, kids to laugh, and families to make lasting memories. By following these tips, we can keep the night full of fun, creativity, and community spirit.

From all of us at Flowers Public Safety, have a safe, spooky, and spectacular Halloween!

THE EMBERS

featuring Craig Woolard

There are many bands or groups today, yet few are considered musical institutions. The Embers featuring Craig Woolard, have solidified their position as a thriving musical entity, leaving their mark on listeners for decades. They are widely considered a musical MARVEL and have laid the groundwork for what has become known as ‘Beach Music’ in the Carolinas, Virginias, the gulf coast region of North America, and every beach in between. They are a true musical tradition many Americans have listened to from childhood to adulthood. The Embers featuring Craig Woolard consider the genre of Beach Music as “music with a memory” and have been creating lasting memories since its inception in 1958. Simply put – Heart and Soul, Rhythm and Blues, Feel Good Music.

Concert Parking: Please park in the gravel lot across Pineville Blvd and use the crosswalk to safely reach the concert area. Let’s keep the main lot available for customers visiting the stores and restaurants that remain open during the event.

Outside Alcohol: No outside alcohol is permitted in Concert Park. Beer and wine will be available from our onsite vendors, so come thirsty—but please leave your own beverages at home.

Seating & Shade: Lawn chairs are always welcome! Tents, however, are discouraged and will only be permitted near the end closest to Petco to ensure everyone has a clear view of the stage.

We can't wait to see you there!

BRINGING WELLNESS TO FLOWERS CROSSROADS

New Studio Offers Customized Therapeutic Services in the Heart of Flowers Crossroads.

The Flowers community has welcomed a new destination for health and relaxation with the opening of Elements Massage Clayton, a modern therapeutic studio committed to providing personalized massage and facial services for residents of Johnston County and beyond.

Officially opening its doors on June 23, 2025, Elements Massage celebrated its launch with a vibrant Grand Opening Party on June 21. The event included complimentary chair massages, skincare demonstrations, and wellness consultations, introducing the community to the studio’s full suite of services and commitment to holistic well-being.

As part of the nationally recognized Elements Massage brand, the Flowers location upholds a reputation for customized care. Each session is tailored to the client’s specific needs—whether addressing chronic pain, stress management, recovery from injury, or general wellness. The studio provides a tranquil environment featuring private session rooms, high quality massage tables, soft lighting, and calming aromas—creating a serene sanctuary in the midst of the growing Flowers Crossroads development.

A Family-Owned Business with a Community Focus

Elements Massage Clayton is owned and operated by John and Amy Upperman, a husband-and-wife duo with a strong commitment to health, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. Through their company, Upperwellness, Inc., the Uppermans successfully launched an Elements Massage location in Wendell Falls in June 2023.

Encouraged by its positive reception, they expanded to Clayton to meet increasing demand for professional massage and facial services in Johnston County.

Amy brings a diverse background in sales, management, and healthcare, with expertise in marketing, training, and customer service excellence. John, is a current executive in supply chain operations, focuses on strategic planning and business growth. Together, they have assembled an amazing team of licensed massage therapists, estheticians and dedicated staff who are equally passionate about delivering high-quality, therapeutic care.

“Our family moved to Clayton in 2009 and have loved watching this area grow,” says Amy. “Our goal is to support the well-being of our community by helping people feel better and live well. Taking time for a massage or facial isn’t selfish—it’s meaningful self-care that helps you show up as your best self for the people around you.”

Beyond their in-studio services, the Uppermans actively participate in local events, support other small businesses, and prioritize hiring locally. Their deep ties to the area reflect a genuine investment in the health and wellness of the community they serve.

Therapeutic Services Tailored to You

Elements Massage Clayton offers a wide range of massage and skincare services designed to support a variety of health goals. Each session is personalized based on pressure preference, focus areas, and client objectives. Some of the signature offerings include:

Growing Together at Thales Academy

AT FLOWERS PLANTATION

A wise saying notes: “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success."

We are so excited to be doing all three at Thales Academy at Flowers Plantation and continuing to grow together. Our expanding high school program (adding 11th grade in 2026 and 12th grade in 2027), our newly established junior high/high school fine arts programs, an official entry into a junior high athletics conference, enriching extracurriculars across all grades, and a continuously refined classical curriculum are just a handful of developments attracting families to our school.

As our Thales Academy at Flowers Plantation community grows, we are beyond delighted to be adding a third classroom building to our campus to accommodate more students in the 2026–2027 school year. This new classroom building will join our existing two classroom buildings and gymnatorium building on campus and will initially house more students in our rapidly growing Pre-K–5 program.

We invite you to schedule a visit to learn more about Thales Academy at Flowers Plantation, see us in action, and witness our exciting growth firsthand. Applications for 2026–2027 open September 2. Learn more and apply online at ThalesAcademy.org
