Street Intervention

For the first part of exercise, we got to choose two of the street as subject in taiwan general metroplican enviornment.

These two study would be devided into several topic to discuss. such as analysis as notation , characteristic ,denisty ,personal sensing (topology) ,zoning ,anchoring point.... which is aim at developing skills of diagram with personality representaion and conduct a view point on these street and study .

(HSINCHU East Market and its surround ) A scenario from East Market to local street form.The scence unfolded seqeuntly by following the route from left to the right. The colors inform the street form conducted by the program/user and the background/building.

( HSINCHU River Front and Vender street ) The river front provide a natural,green open space in the urban enviornment,in an edge connects to the East Gate Circle,which is the traffic center in HINCHU, where as the other side branch into the Vender street,which is a general scene could be founded in taiwan urban fabric.

A continuous street divided into three segment, within characters inside each section,nature and symthetic element merged together, amplify the anchor point and transition between sections.

Street Study /Classic Avenue Research

This phase we are encouraged to choose a subject from a well designed and urban planning city,which obtain a clear vision and type of their urban landscape patterns with street forms that could be easily recognized, as a comparsion to our previous studies.

Regent street creates by the authorities from U.K. kingdom, is far from citys we lived in ,which are growth under the capitalisim, they reshaped the road,collected the houses that faces the street. turned the street viod into a relatively concreted space, by cover up all the facade that facing the street with a classic look. interms to accomplish a route that connects the palace to the park.

( Street scale and element /activities ) within a different scale/wide of street which import systems to travel one to another, while taiwan's street form are compact but lose of order.

( Figure-Ground of Regent street ) it shows that a continuous street that insecure by the houses around ,but also indicate that the anchors in the turning point that linked up each section.

( Street renew verse open space / left over street ) the regent street adapt to the grid pattern in the old london urban landscape, aviod the open space and create different uasge of the store type/activities in the two sides of the street the inner circle provide a lovely path for cafe and restaurant, while the outer route given quick access to the retail store.

( Model of the continuous Regent Street ) street been divided/continuous by the turning point and anchor ,which support the model to stand,while the carve indicate the tangent of street form that is on the axis that continuous the identical street view ,either on the facde or the anchor point.

(HSINCHU Market Street ) street straighten with a route connects each other but seperate the esport-zone

(HSINCHU Market Street ) the regent street arranged as public to private from the left to the right end, before the plazza is a tree structure with public use, while the other end is for auditorium,middle remains a general pattern for other use.

03 Street Straighten & Vertical Street This part we turn the street into a linear ,straight route , each route would indicate a type of hiearachy, Tree structure,main structure and so on. within the straightened route,spaces are added to fill up the viod within the route, in further, we given these spaces program and characteristic base on their street form.

Second part we bended our diagram into third dimension, inserted into site,which is base on Tiachung-Calligraphy Greenway. This part requres tactical problem solving skills, lay out the limits amount of programs that the project requries.

04 Site Intergration / Contextual Progrramme Introduce such concept into site might facing the actual usablity, the situation on site and the limited flooring space,would go agianst it. while we designing such project we are required to using a linear spacial experiment-oreint way to approach our design while maintain a feasible architecture.

Using section as intergration for all the experiences and create a vertical street inside a building.

( 1/300 Site Model ) the project filled up about the whole area of usable site ,left over a open space in the inner part of the nearby alley, create a realitively small scale of plazza that fits to taiwan envornment.

( Linear Scenario experince ) The route begins from the inner plazza walk along through bookstore,co-working garden,educational center,the showroom get across the classroom end up to the administration office.

This route is set up for those who are going to use the service in this building, while others remain at the ground floor with a different route.WWv

( Long complex section ) section shows up how the space weaving from the alley flows into the building create a inside-out feelings.Three open space arranged on different levels in the section.

( Crossing section ) This section shows the ground floor space while crossing the biulding from the Greenway to the inner plazza.

( Long section on Education Center ) This is the side of Gonyi Rd (main street behind the site) without the facade. Mega sructure on the thrird floor cut off the relation between the upper and lower floor create a sperate/private open space for education center.

( Entrance of the groud floor ) the entrance provide a deep, height space for entrance while enter the building it get compressed from 3floor height to single floor and then expand again.

Media Center design

This project is delicated to design a versatile use of lecture and educational use. it could seem as a extend of school use spaces ,while citizens are couraged to enter the building to share all kind of activites , it is a project that is welcome for all walks of lives.

I seperates the usage of the actual students,teacher, whomever what to use the service here, verse the one that is just for recreational use and include the e-sport center. which is more lesuire/public used -oriented. while the inner plazza seems to be no use and away from the route to get great usage of the building, it actually having the stair cores facing the plazza which turn it into the most efficiency path to enter. This guarantees the liveness of the ground platform.
