Atualmente está ocorrendo no país uma série de intervenções importantes em relação ao afrodescendente, em especial no que se refere a educação. Hoje em dia se tem a impressão que as políticas voltadas para os afrodescendentes ganharam uma visibilidade inaudita no país, sobretudo desde a posse do presidente Lula, que criou uma secretaria especial de promoção da igualdade racial. Há uma dívida história inegável com esta camada da população, mas, por outro lado, vejo da parte dos afrodescendentes o reconhecimento do esforço do governo para resgatar esta dívida. Este empenho tem trazido recompensas, está nascendo um país mais diverso, mais igual. Dentro destas conquistas está a Faculdade Zumbi dos Palmares, cujo trabalho venho acompanhando e desejo êxito pelo esforço e desenvolvimento.

A series of important intervention related to people of African Descent is happening in this country nowadays, now especially in education. On these days we have the impression that policies focused on people of African Descent have gotten an unprecedented visibility in our country, principally after the President Lula inauguration, which created a Special Secretary to promote racial equality. There is an undeniable historical debt with this part of the population, but, on the other hand I can see that people of African Descent are recognizing the government efforts to pay this debt. This effort has been bringing rewards, and it is inspiring a more diverse country, more equal. Among these wins is Zumbi dos Palmares College whose the work I have been following and I wish it success through the work and development.
