INTRODUCTION WEEK

Los Andes University in the induction week for new students aims to motivate them in the world of higher education, strengthen their professional vocation and provide information and contact with teachers and colleagues to start their studies, this week they take activities such as:

Meeting with the Rector and Dean of the faculty

Meeting with the academic coordinators

Meeting with the professors of the academic program

Uniandes Fair - integration activities

Meeting with the induction teachers and cards are delivered

TIME TABLES

UNDERGRADUATE:

Undergraduate students can take their classes in person and virtual sessions enabled from Monday to Friday between 6:30 am to 9:00 pm. Saturday between 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

POSTGRADUATE:

Specializations and Masters students take their classes during the day from Monday to Friday between 6:00 am to 10:00 pm according to academic responsibilities; Saturdays between 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

DOCTORATE:

PhD students take their advisory sessions on Friday from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pmSaturdays from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm

The University offers a wide portfolio of services for the Uniandina community in terms of physical activity, sports and recreation. The university has a Sports Center that offers various possibilities such as:

The Uniandes library facilitates the acquisition of books, institutional articles and academic resources for the Uniandes community within the campus. Additionally, it generates spaces for interaction between the Uniande authors and the university community for the dissemination of their works.

EXAMS

For the admission process to an undergraduate degree, the applicant must fill out a form, the university only receives high school graduates or applicants who are in the last grade and have submitted the 11th grade saber test.

 The Medicine and Music programs have additional processes with specialized exams that the applicant must take to access the career.

 All students in the first and second semester must take the Spanish Diagnostic Test, it is a requirement to be able to take the University Writing course.

Most of the careers require new students to present diagnostic tests in mathematics and English that determine the student's level in these areas in order to access the first semester classes

The University campus has more than 166,653 built square meters that meet the technical quality and high-tech requirements necessary to provide an environment that facilitates academic activity and the well-being of all students. Currently, the Campus is made up of 83 buildings, various academic spaces and green areas.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

The Andes University has a financial support plan that allows applicants with economic difficulties to enter and successfully develop their studies at the Institution.

With this support, the purpose of the University is to have students of great academic and intellectual conditions, who can better contribute to the advancement of knowledge and science in the country.

ENGLISH

All students must take an English placement test to determine their level of reading comprehension in English. From the result of this test there are two options:

• Take the courses suggested by the placement exam and pass up to the English 6 course (LENG-1156), • If the result in the placement exam is higher than English level 6, this requirement is automatically fulfilled.

Students who already have an international exam in ENGLISH with the scores required by the University must take a validation exam.

The university has a provision that the student must take a minimum of 1 hour of English daily

INDUCTION WEEK

The University welcomes new students who are beginning their professional training, with the aim of strengthening their decisions to access higher education and advance a good academic project that allows students to become excellent professionals.

During the induction week, the students receive a welcome from the rector of the University, who informs them of the different guidelines and student regulations to follow for their professional training at the Javeriana University.

The new students are called Neojaverianos who during the week have various spaces and activities to get to know the University, its academic proposal and the national and international exchange opportunities arranged in the different careers. A large number of integration activities are carried out on the university campus.

During this week, students get to know all the managers, professors, and classmates, as well as the different facilities that the university offers for their well-being and academic development.

The Pontificia Javeriana University offers the following class schedules in the different study plans:

EXAMS

For admission to the Javeriana University, it is required to present the degree certificate or high school diploma as well as excellent results in the State Exam saber 11 or equivalent and proof of payment of registration fees.

The University's admission process is based on three groups of criteria with written tests and interviews on issues related to Attitude, Ability and/or Knowledge, in which the applicant will be evaluated for admission to each academic program.

If the applicant is applying for an undergraduate program in Visual Arts or Visual Communication Design, they need to scan or generate a PDF or JPG document of their portfolio of drawings, illustrations, paintings or designs.

For the medicine study plan, in addition to presenting an entrance exam, the applicant must take a premedical course.

FINANCE SUPPORT

Javeriana University offers credit possibilities to students to pay their tuition in up to six monthly installments during the academic period.

The average cost of a semester of a career other than medicine is between 15 to 18 million Colombian pesos and Medicine around $29,000,000 Within the framework of the Academic Excellence Policy for Javeriana Students, the Pontificia Javeriana University assigns Scholarships to Outstanding Bachelor students every semester for 80% of the tuition fee, through calls that are held every semester.

The minimum levels of competences required by the University, in accordance with the standards proposed in the "European Framework of Reference for Language Learning, Teaching and Assessment" and as indicated by the direction of each career are B2, B1 or the A2.

The student will be able to certify the command of a language, at the level and at the time that their career indicates in the following ways: International Exam Certification, or Diploma from a Bilingual, Binational or International Baccalaureate School from one of the schools indicated in the list proposed by the University.

In the induction week for new students of the University of Antioquia, information is disclosed about the academic programs and about the dynamics of the University.

The university promotes culture and fosters artistic activities, which is why it has several institutions that develop different educational and cultural programs and projects for students

In the university, the students have 14 Libraries, the main is the Central Library, there is a wealth of collections of books and magazines with a catalog of more than 650,000 reference texts.

HEALTH SERVICES:

The purpose of the Health Program of the University of Antioquia is to guarantee the efficient, timely and adequate administration and delivery of the health services required by the students.

FOOD SERVICE:

For undergraduate students from strata 1 - 2 and 3, the university provides a food or lunch voucher which is totally free.

In addition to this, there are other spaces in which recreational and cultural activities take place. Some of them are: Coffee Shop, University Theater, Cinematheque,Arts room, University Museum

It establishes the need for all undergraduate programs at the University of Antioquia that lead to a professional degree to incorporate five levels of English and an evaluation and Certification in a Foreign Language into their study plans.

The University of Antioquia gives newly admitted students the opportunity to take a qualifying exam in English if they have knowledge of this language, which merits them continuing in a course above the first level.

The university carries out the exam through the PIFLE Institutional Foreign Language Program, which seeks to promote the learning of a foreign language. Once the results are available, students who do not pass the certification in English must enroll at the respective level in the PIFLE program.

EXAMS

Undergraduate admission is made through a knowledge test that is held twice a year and is administered by the Department of Admissions and Registration.

The admission exam is an instrument that measures basic skills and knowledge learned during high school, as well as knowledge in the area to which you want to apply.

The exam consists of two components: Test of Reading Competence (Mother Language) with a weighting of 50% of the test, Test of Logical Reasoning (Mathematical Logic) with a weighting of 50%. To be admitted, you must pass a minimum cut-off score and also be within the number of places available for each race.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

The costs of studying at the University of Antioquia are none for many students, since it is a public university, but in general, students who must pay tuition pay between $200,000 - $1,800.000, the cost depends on the socio-economic status of the student and/or their parents' income statement..
