4 Tips for Keeping Your Winter Skin Glowing

If you are looking to improve your skin’s glow in the winter, it can be a bit of a challenge with the frigid, dry air.

Even if you use all the right products to take care of your skin, that natural glow isn’t always there. These skincare tips really take your winter skin to the next level.

Be Gentler on Your Skin The first tip that is going to keep you with glowing skin in the winter, even with the change in climate, is to be overly gentle on your skin. Whether you are cleansing, exfoliating, or choosing makeup for the day, think of what is gentle for your skin. Whether or not you have sensitive skin, you should be treating it like it is sensitive in the winter. The brisk air and chilly winds can be harsh on your skin, so you don’t want to make it worse. Use lukewarm or cool water to wash your face instead of hot water, and use a gentle cleanser in the winter. Be careful with toners and astringents that might dry your skin even more.

Choose the Right Moisturizer You already know to use moisturizer in the winter since your skin tends to be dry with the drier air and winds.

Keep in mind you might have to use a different moisturizer in the winter than what you use in the spring or summer. You want to add in more moisture and hydration to your skin, so go with a light moisturizer and one that has SPF. People often forget about sunscreen in the winter because it’s not hot and sunny, but it is still just as important.

Watch Out for Dry Air Indoors Another tip for glowing skin in the winter is to not just be careful about that dry air outdoors, but indoors as well. When you are inside your home, you probably don’t experience a lot of humidity in the winter. However, you do need a little moisture in the air to help hydrate your skin and keep it from getting dry and cracked.

Getting a humidifier can really do wonderful things for your skin when you are inside your home.

Use Natural Exfoliators For exfoliation, once again, be gentle and kind to your skin. Try to switch over to a natural exfoliator without any additives. The best thing you can do is make one at home with sugar or salt. If you have sensitive skin, use a softer sugar like brown sugar, as it helps remove dead skin cells without causing too much irritation.

How to Beat the Winter Blues Winter Blues, Seasonal depression, SAD, Feeling Down in the Dumps? It’s winter, it’s gray outside and you’re not feeling yourself. You are NOT alone. The Winter Blues are a common yearly depression that happens in the late fall and winter months. This year it is particularly difficult as we have been inside due to lockdowns, and safety from Covid-19. While the feeling is overwhelming there are plenty of things that you can do to successfully combat seasonal depression long before you feel its effects.

Try these tips to ward off seasonal depression:

1.Mimic the sun. If it’s gloomy outside, why not consider purchasing a sunlamp that mimics the sunshine?

In essence, you can effectively combat seasonal depression by being aware of both your behavior and environment.

Zee's Game Day Nachos We all know that Zee is not much of a cook, but she can sure make a plate of Ultimate Nachos that no one can resist….all with easy ready to use products.

Ingredients 1 bag Xochitl Corn Tortilla Chips 1 package Perdue Farms Niman Ranch Fat Tire Shredded Beef 15 oz can of refried beans 1 can sliced black olives

½ cup pickled jalepenos 2 cups shredded cheddar or taco mix cheese 1 cup pico de gallo

¼ cup green onions sliced thin 1 cup of your favorite guacamole Plenty of sour cream

Directions 1. Preheat oven to 325° 2. Line baking sheet with aluminum foil (easy clean up) 3. Place a layer of tortilla chips on the pan

½ cup of cheese onto the chips 5. Top with ½ of the shredded beef 6. Add ½ of the refried beans

4. Sprinkle

7. Repeat with another layer 8. Top with a layer of cheese 9. Bake for 15 minutes (until the cheese melts) 10. Top with pico de gallo, black olives, and jalapenos 11. Add a large scoop of guacamole and another of sour cream for dipping 12. Enjoy the game
