a few words from ZLRMA ESTATE MANAGER

Dear Member

Believe it or not, we’re halfway through 2025. Thankfully, it has been a productive and eventful first half of the year, with a number of new build submissions in process, various new erven site handovers being approved to commence with building and the opening of the Zimbali Lakes Resort Ernie Els Signature Course on the 16th April 2025.

For those who have not been on the estate of late, I thought it the perfect opportunity to keep you in the loop with few photos of all construction underway, which includes SR sites (single residence homes) and PUD sites (apartments and simplex units).

Furthermore, for information purposes, included in this edition, is short snippet from Kathija Ismail, our Building Control Officer (BCO). If you require a refresher of other relevant information pertaining to plan submissions and building protocol criteria, please revert to either previous editions, or peruse the Design Criteria Document which was previously provided to you, or for ease of reference, just click on the icon provided in this month’s edition. For any additional information or query, you are welcome to contact our DRC members on drc@zlr.co.za

A reminder for any Member, or friends and family who are possibly not aware, please visit our website www.zimbalilakes. co.za and click on the golf icon which will provide you with all the information you may wish to know.

You will furthermore note on the estate app, that there is now also a new Golf icon which will also provide you with the necessary information and place to book your tees.

Last, but not least, is a reminder to please download the new Zimbali Lakes Estate Management App onto your cell phone. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3 and will provide you with all the previous App used to and with so much more in store in the near future.

MY ESTATE APP

Dear Member

As of the 1st April 2025, we transitioned to our new estate management system. If you have not done so already, please delete the previous My Estate Life app from your phone and download the Zimbali Lakes app from the Google Play Store (for Android users) or the Apple App Store (for iPhone users) as per the photos below for ease of reference.

The My Estate Life app is no longer in use, so we encourage you to download the new app and register with the username and temporary password that has been provided to you via email. This will help ensure uninterrupted access for your visitors. Please note that the same rules and policies will apply with the new app, as was the case with the My Estate Life app.

The Zimbali Lakes Resort app has been designed specifically for our community, maintaining all the functionalities you are accustomed to, yet now with a modern, refined interface that reflects the prestigious image of Zimbali Lakes Resort. We will be introducing additional features in the coming weeks, and we will keep you informed of these updates as and when available.

Should you have any questions or require assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the ZLRMA office. We are here to help!

Message from our BUILDING CONTROL OFFICER

I am pleased to share that it has been an incredibly productive period since we had last engaged and thanks to the great weather recently, our sites have been moving at a rapid pace.

Despite the large volumes of rain experienced over the last few months, all sites under construction are now moving at full steam ahead. This quarter anticipates the completion of at least two planned unit developments (PUDS). No doubt, this is a great achievement for all involved and will open the Estate to more live in residents.

This ultimately calls for increased and on-going attention to site maintenance and housekeeping. All sites are required to be cordoned off with shade cloth which must be erect at all times. The site must be secured by means of a gate with a chain, lock and key. Over time, the shade cloth deteriorates, and contractors are required to either re-erect the existing shade cloth or replace with new.

Materials and stockpiles are to be designated to a corner of the site and not exceed the shade cloth height. All rubble should be carted off at least weekly.

It has been noted that some sites have been neglected and if you’re a homeowner currently under construction, it is recommended that you do engage with your contractor to attend to the housekeeping. This helps avoid penalties and unwanted down time.

It is worthwhile to note that sites under construction play a vital role in selling the vision of Zimbali Lakes Resort and as the number of live in residents increase, we need to ensure that the Estate is a safe place for all families and pets alike.

A well maintained and secure site ensures a healthy environment for all - staff, visitors and residents!
