OTHER CREATIVE FORMS As in previous years, there were a number of other creative forms presented within the 2015/16 programme, aside from Theatre, Visual Arts, Music, and Cinema. As part of the Spazju Kreattiv strategic vision, a diversity of forms is not only highly desireable but also makes for a broader set audiences engaging with projects from Fondazzjoni Kreattività over all. The first event in this category was the co-organisation of the 19th International Conference on Electronic Publishing (known as Elpub 2015) along with the University of Malta’s Department of Library Information and Archive Sciences. Two pre-conference workshops were also held, including the launch of DARIAH (Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities) in Malta. Proceedings of this conference, entitled New Avenues for Electronic Publishing in the Age of Infinite Collections and Citizen Science: Scale, Openness and Trust, edited by conference organising chairs Birgit Schmidt and Milena Dobreva, were published with open access by IOS Press of Amsterdam. Science in the City is undoubtedly the most popular of the sort of events that fall in this grouping. Spazju Kreattiv supported the Malta Chamber of Scientists in various aspects that led to the organisation and execution of the 2015 edition of this popular science festival. Just as enlightening was the project Misteri by Vanni Pulè, which consisted mainly in a show of magic, illusion and deception featuring various performers. The project also included a lecture by the illusionist on the history of magic, illusion and deception along with a small exhibition of painting and drawings he created on the subject. The presentation of poet Adrian Grima’s Klin u Kapriċċi Oħra in our theatre-in-the-round was a rather unusual book launch in as much as it featured music by the Maltese rock band Plato’s Dream Machine. This was not the only project from the field of literature in the season since there were also a number of workshops on writing for the theatre delivered by Vicki Ann Cremona, Cathy Crab and Fraser Grace in collaboration with Arts Council Malta. These complemented Valletta 2018’s Storyworks workshops on writing for the screen with the participation of Mary Kate O’Flanagan and Jean Pierre Magro, presented in collaboration with the Malta Film Commission. A number of other activities in this category involve voluntary organisations with which we have an ongoing collaboration agreement. These include Celebrating World Day of Disability with the Opening Doors Association, and a Wiki Workshop on the Europeana Art History Challenge from Wikimedia Community Malta. Also particularly noteworthy are our Education Outreach activities and the Community Outreach project conducted at the Corradino Correctional Facility through the support of the President’s Creativity Award.
