rowing up in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, I had originally wanted to be a synchronised swimmer, however, that dream didn’t last too long and I decided to continue with my education, studying criminology at university. I graduated from Portsmouth University with a degree in Criminology & Forensic Studies in 2011 without being set on a particular career path. My dad had worked in commercial property, which I had always found interesting growing up, so I decided to give it a go. I started as a negotiator for KFH in June just a few days after graduating and have worked for the company ever since. After five years working in Wimbledon, I was thrilled to be asked to help launch the Southfields lettings branch, and made the move to Wimbledon Park Road a couple of months ago. Our Southfields sales branch originally opened in 1987, so it’s great to finally be able to offer Southfields a lettings service too. It’s an exciting time for KFH as a

whole, with our Battersea Park lettings branch having also just launched. To outsiders, Southfields is perhaps best known for being home to the Wimbledon tennis tournament. For two weeks every year, the area is teeming with tourists, but, for the other fifty weeks, Southfields is a very low key, family-friendly area. Southfields has an inclusive village feel and is a desirable, south west London hub. It’s rare to find a place in London where everyone knows each other, but in Southfields there is such a great community spirit. There are lovely independent businesses here in Southfields too, with the well-established Olive Garden, a firm local favourite. The Lebanese restaurant Bosa Kitchen and Chanteroy, the small

French deli, are also popular destinations for those looking for great dining in a more casual environment. There are a number of popular schools in the area, so families make up the majority of the larger three bedroom home market. Schools of note include Albermarle and Holy Trinity Church of England Primary Schools, both rated as Outstanding by Ofsted, and St. Cecilia’s Church of England Secondary School and Southfields Academy, rated Outstanding and Good respectively. The market is competitive, but in the tenant’s favour as there is currently a large amount of property available. Houses in Southfields are increibly good quality, as landlords ensure their property is more attractive, in better condition and more competitively priced than the next one! As the summer gets into full swing (weather permitting), the lettings market looks likely to remain busy as families step up their search in order to secure a property and settle in before the new school year starts. u
