A COMPREHENSIVE ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE

Since 1948 the International School of Belgrade (ISB) has distinguished itself as a world class educational institution with a newly revised lofty mission statement. It is a “collaborative learning community that inspires and empowers its members to discover their passions to be global innovators”. The International School of Belgrade is the only institution in Serbia offering all three highly regarded International Baccalaureate programs: Primary Years Program, Middle Years Program, and Diploma Program.

SB students have consistently excelled in this rigorous academic programme. In fact, over the last two years some 96% of our students have enrolled in the Diploma Programme and been awarded full diploma status. ISB has a proven track record as a first class academic institution and the school takes pride in its achievements on educating of the “whole” student. As well as providing an rich and rigorous academic programme, ISB also offers a wealth of opportunities for secondary school pupils to explore their abilities beyond the normal IB curriculum in a one-to-one laptop setting. As support to the regular IB curriculum coursework, ISB also offers a series of enrichment classes to add to pupils’ overall academic experience, with students given the choice of courses as diverse as healthy Living and Fitness, Journalism, Cookery, Digital Photography and Drama. RANGE OF VARIOUS COMPETITIONS In terms of athletics and activities, ISB is a long-standing member of the Central and eastern european Schools Association (CeeSA). This organization is composed of 20 international schools and provides a series of activities and athletic competitions for its member schools. ISB students (boys and

girls) compete in CeeSA sponsored events as diverse as Tennis, Knowledge Bowl, Soccer, Math Counts, Basketball, Robotics, Volleyball, Choir and Speech and Debate. Our teams not only compete at these events, but also excel. This year alone ISB won seven individual and/or team championships at CeeSA competitions. Pupils of the lower school are given the opportunity to participate in activities as wide ranging as Martial Arts, Soccer, Free Climbing, Baseball, Chess, Drama, Yoga and Basketball. In addition to these extracurricular activities, ISB also supports a welldeveloped Performance and Visual Arts programme, which features performances throughout the year culminating in an outdoor dramatic performance held in the new school amphitheatre, as well as exhibitions at local Belgrade galleries. each of our three school divisions offers a full music programme, featuring several performances throughout the school year. The ISB high school and middle school have well established student-directed newspapers, while students in each division have an opportunity to help govern the school through student council organisations.
