EXAM SYSTEM OF ZIS Zaman International School academic year has two terms.

First term comprises the months between September to January, while second term includes January to June. Two exams are given, the former visa, the latter final exams.

The teachers evaluate and assess the student not only with visa and final exams but also they consider the homework and projects they assign throughout the term and quizzes and tests they give, under the heading of teacher's evaluation. This is also called visa 2 scores. The final term score is figured out with %30 of visa exam score as well as the %40 of the final exam score. Moreover, %30 of the teacher evaluation score is added to the sum.

If the score of any subject is 50 or more, the student passes, while below 50 is a failing score. Thus, the total average of the overall subjects is calculated and it forms the student's overall average.

GENERAL

FUN COMPETITIONS OF 7E & 7F On Saturday,11 of November, We had a great and unforgettable activity at our School. It was a competition between 7-E and 7F. In fact, it was not only competitive, but also was exciting, enjoyable, ambitious and lively.

The students were so eager and curious about the competition that all of them came to School at a very early time. They wanted the competition to start immediately and they were asking about when the competition was going to start. There were four teachers to carry out and lead the competition and when they saw the great excitement of the students, they lat the competition start at an earlier time than expected.

The Competition consisted of five different parts. The first step was “Musical chairs” In this game there were ten players but nine chairs. Five of the players were from 7-E and the other five were from 7-F. All the players were dancing around the chairs along with the music. When the music was stopped, each player tried to find a chair for her to sit down.

The player who couldn't sit on any of the chairs got out of the game and was eliminated. At the very beginning, there were ten players but after each pause one player was eliminated from the competition and at the very end there were only two players competing. It was the most exciting part of the first game of the competition who was going to

be the winner? 7-E or 7-F? Everyone was worried about it. In the end, the winner became clear. It was the player from 7-E, so the winner of the first game of the competition was 7-E, too.

After “musical chairs“it was the turn of “the apple game“. This game was played by six players and each class had three players. In this game, the players with their hands tied behind their backs tried to bite the apples floating in a large tub. The player who finished eating the apple first was going to be the winner.

The winner of this game was 7-E, again. At that point, 7-F students got a bit discouraged and thought that they wouldn't be able to win the competition.

When their homeroom teacher noticed that situation, she immediately went towards them and reminded that they shouldn't despair about losing the competition and they still had the chance to win. After that, 7-F students got their confidence and enthusiasm back and became more ambitious and confident for the rest of the competition.

The last part of the competition was “ tug of war “.this part was a bit different from the other ones because it was played by all the members of each class, even the homeroom teachers were

included in that part. Each team had twenty one players. The players tried to pull the members of the opposite team and 7-E was the team who pulled 7-F in a very short time and in a surprising way because 7-F didn't expect to be defeated so quickly and easily.

Now, it was the time to decide the overall winner of the competition.

As 7-E was the winner of four different parts of the competition, they were the winners overall, too. When they heard that they were the winners of the competition, they got very happy. 7-F was a bit upset and discouraged as they weren't the winners.

However, after their homeroom teacher explained the fact that entering and enjoying the competition was much more important than winning it, they gave up feeling upset and understood that it's not winning or losing that's important, but how you play the game.

The students felt happy to be involved in such an unusual competition which introduced them to a few traditional party games played in other parts of the world.

Karate-Do Championship Cambodia Karate-Do Organization 2006 On December 24th, 2006 at Norton University

Cambodia Karate-Do Organization welcomed all club members that have applied for the Karate-Do Completion Championship. So far we have arranged the competition for 3 times and we will arrange it every y e a r. T h e o b j e c t i v e o f t h e competition is to build up friendship and provide selfconfidence for the students as well as to select best Karate-Do champions to attend international competition abroad.

Moreover, the best champions can become coaches or coach assistants in the club. The program was sponsored by generous leaders from university, school, institution, and other centers.

HISTORY

The Pyramids of Egypt There are no more famous ancient sites within Egypt, or for that matter elsewhere in the world, than the Great Pyramids at Giza. They are, without question, the icon most associated with the Egypt. They have been both the main destination for tourists, and a source of imaginative thought to the world for over three thousand years.

However, there are actually over 100 pyramids in Egypt, many of which are relatively unknown to anyone who is not an ancient Egypt enthusiast. All but a very few are grouped around and near the City of Cairo, just south of the Nile Delta. Otherwise, only one royal pyramid is known in southern Egypt (at Abydos), that being the one built by Ahmose, founder of the 18th Dynasty and Egypt's New Kingdom. It may have also been the last royal pyramid built in Egypt.

Hence, major pyramids were not built throughout Egypt's ancient history. The Pyramid Age began with a burst of building, starting with the 3rd Dynasty reign of Djoser. Some of the early kings, most specifically Snefru, built more than one pyramid. Almost all of the kings added to their number through the end of the Middle Kingdom, with the possible exception of the First Intermediate Period between the Old and Middle Kingdoms. After the first Pharaoh of Egypt's New Kingdom, Ahmose, royal pyramid building by Egyptians ceased entirely. Somewhat abruptly the kings of the New Kingdom chose, rather than making their tombs completely obvious, to hide them in the hills of the West Bank of Thebes (modern Luxor).

However, smaller pyramids were constructed, for example in the Deir el-Medina necropolis, by private individuals. The Late Period Nubians who ruled Egypt also built relatively small pyramids with much steeper sides, though these were in fact constructed in Nubia itself. This tradition was carried on in Nubia after these southern rulers lost control of Egypt, and eventually, more pyramids were actually built in Nubia than Egypt, though

on a much smaller scale.

Other pyramids in the world certainly exist, but their purpose, for the most part, was different than those of ancient Egypt. The most famous outside Egypt are probably those located in Mexico and to the south of Mexico, but these appear to have been built more as temples. In Egypt, all but a select few of the pyramids were built as tombs, sometimes to hold the physical body of a pharaoh (as well as other individuals), or to hold the soul of the deceased (as in the case of the small cult pyramids built next to the larger ones). Otherwise, the purpose of only a few small, regional stepped pyramids remains elusive.

While pyramids were, for the most part, tombs for the Pharaohs of Egypt, one must nevertheless question the reason that Egyptian rulers chose this particular shape, and for that matter, why they built them so large. Today, we believe that they chose the shape in order to mimic the Benben, a pyramid shaped stone found in the earliest of temples, which itself is thought to symbolize the primeval mound from which the Egyptians believed life emerged.

This also connected the pyramid to Re, the Sun God, as it was he, according to some of the ancient Egypt mythology, who rose from the primeval mound to create life.

As far the great size of many of the pyramids in Egypt, we can really only surmise that the Pharaohs were making a statement about their own power

and perhaps, about the glory and s t r e n g t h o f t h e i r c o u n t r y.

However, it should also be remembered that many of the latter pyramids were not nearly as large as the Great Pyramids at Giza (and elsewhere).

Pyramids evolved. The first of them was not a perfectly formed pyramid. In fact, the first Pyramid we believe that was built in Egypt, that of Djoser, was not a true pyramid at all with smooth sides and a point at the top.

Rather, its sides were stepped, and the top of the pyramid truncated with a flat surface (as best we know). As the Egyptian pyramids evolved, there were failures as well glorious failures until finally, they got it right with what was probably the first smooth sided true pyramid built at Meidum. In fact, pyramids continued to evolve throughout their history, perhaps not always in outward appearances, but in the way that they were built and in the theology surrounding their construction. For example, towards the latter part of Egypt's Pyramid Age, Osirian beliefs seem to have had more and more impact on the arrangement and layout of the subterranean chambers.

However, soon after the first pyramids were built, their form became somewhat standardized. Royal pyramid complexes included the main pyramid, a courtyard surrounding the main pyramid, a much smaller cult pyramid for the king's soul, a mortuary temple situated next to

the main pyramid, an enclosure wall and a causeway that led down to a valley temple. Some pyramid complexes included subsidiary, smaller pyramids for family members, and most were surrounded by some sort of tombs for family members.

Our thinking on pyramids has evolved considerably over the years. Many of us who are a bit older were taught that the pyramids were built using Jewish slave labor, which is a fabrication of immense proportions. Most of the pyramids were built long before the Jews made their appearance historically and currently, many if not most scholars believe they were not built using slave labor at all (or perhaps a nominal number of slaves).

Otherwise, we can also dismiss offhand alternative theories related to aliens or some lost culture being responsible for pyramid building. There is just far too much evidence, including tools, drawings, evolutionary changes, and even worker villages that rule these farfetched ideas obsolete.

H o w e v e r, s o m e m y s t e r i e s remain, even in some of the best well known Pyramids. The most famous of them all, the Great Pyramid of Khufu, continues, year after year, to give up a few more secrets, and there doubtless remains much to learn from these Egyptian treasures.

There may even be one or more pyramids yet to be discovered.

You can transmit information between a computer and a printer, a mobile phone to a printer, or even a printer to a printer. With this in mind the interest in Bluetooth wireless technology has rocketed. It can be applied to a host of applications and equipment. In some cases adding new features and usability. The Imposter Once upon a time, there was a gild man whose name was Dhani Ram [Dhani means Rich]. He was a man of crores but he did not want to spend that money.

Once he was going somewhere in the village, he saw a sweet shop where the shopkeeper was selling Jalebies. . He looked at the jalebies and wanted to eat them.

But for eating them, he had to s p e n d money.

He made a plan for eating jalebies. He came his house and called his servant. He gave him money and told him to bring jalebies from sweet shop. He also told him not to bring them here in home. You bring them near the bushes of the lake. I will wait there for you and for sweet jalebies.

At this stage, Dhani Ram was making his plan of eating jalebies, and on the other side, a man who was completely identical with Dhani Ram was present in the palace before the king. He asked for what purpose he had come to palace, then, he replied, "Maharaj, I have come here to seek your permission to distribute some of my wealth which is with me.”

"You can distribute your wealth as you desire." The king permitted him.

You have not given it to any needy person. I will take away all my wealth, if you persist in such behaviour of miserness. Leave the miserness and behave like a g e n e r o u s m a n . M o r e o v e r, remember my son, generosity is always immortal. Generous man is always remembered by all kinds of men.”

And the Dhani's father went back to his heavenly abode.

Dhani returned home and became too much generous to needy and poor people..
