About the composer Zachary J. Moore (b. 1992) is an American composer and arranger currently working on his bachelors in music education at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. Zach, who is a native resident of Wisconsin, attended Muskego High School and began composing in 2009 at the age of fifteen. Since then, Zach has had the opportunity to receive lessons and guidance from some of the world’s leading choral composers including Eric Barnum, Dan Forrest, Ola Gjeilo, Jake Runestad and Ethan Wickman.

Since 2013, Zach has received an increasing number of commissions and performances from choral groups and societies all over the world. Noteworthy commissions include an arrangement in 2014 for the North Central American Choral Directors Association’s project, “A Community That Sings”; and more recently three commissioned works for his composerin-residence with The Master Singers for their 2014 – 2015 Concert Season. In addition to notable commissions, Zach’s works have been performed in various prestigious venues including the 2014 Nebraska State Music Educator’s Association Conference and the Taipei National Concert Hall in 2015. Throughout Zach’s career as a composer he has received various awards for his compositions. In 2010, he sent in his first composition to the Wisconsin Student Music Association’s Student Composition Project, earning third place. More recently, in 2014, he sent in an entry to the renowned American Prize composition competition earning a spot as a Finalist.
