UW Madison “Red” branding and natural lighting through large windows modernize the exterior.
MADISON, WISCONSIN
To renovate the University Library with a modern yet familiar ambiance for students. The renovation focuses on natural lighting, flexible spaces, technology, comfortable furniture, and sustainable features. Plaid patterns, inspired by classic 1950s designs, will be used throughout the space to create an inviting atmosphere.



Circulaton Zoning
The library’s circulation revolves around a central T-shaped pathway connectiong different learning spaces. This design ensures easy access to resources while preserving privacy and focus.

Built in 1953, the Memorial Library is the largest research l ibrary at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Its neoclassical architecture features imposing columns and it houses over 8 million items and specialized collections.
