MISSIONS COMMUNICATION

SHORT AND LONG TERM OPPORTUNITIES FOR U OF N GRADUATES

So you got some great training ... ... NOW WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH IT? The University of the Nations offers some great training courses. Students emerge from the College of Communication having honed their skills working alongside some outstanding teachers. But what comes next? And can you use those skills under the umbrella of Youth With A Mission?

YOU HAVE SOMETHING THEY NEED Many YWAM missionaries launch out into ministry with very little awareness of their communication needs. To develop partnerships with financial supporters and to ensure good prayer support, they need to be able to tell their ministry stories. To resource their ministries and to connect with other, like-minded teams, communication skills are vital. If you are gifted in visual, written or verbal communication, you could make a huge difference to the effectiveness of individual missionaries and to whole ministries.

What is a Com Team? For the past 8 years, YWAM has been developing regional communication teams to serve the needs of ministries around the world. My intern experience with YWAM AfriCom [the Com Team for YWAM’s work in Africa] was very beneficial and memorable. My experience with AfriCom has renewed and strengthened my passion for missions. I have witnessed the way the communicators for AfriCom play an important role on the mission field. The AfriCom team taught me a lot simply by their example as I worked alongside them as they put out an instalment of their publication for YWAM in Africa. They also taught me on a one-on-one basis, where they oversaw writing exercises of several kinds. This internship was not one that was completely focused on writing. It was first of all focused on God, and that has helped me to see writing in an atmosphere that has proper priorities. Overall, I would recommend an internship with YWAM Com Teams. The people are great, the experience is unforgettable and the opportunity is waiting! Contact info@ywamafricom.org to find out how to have your own intern experience in missions communication!
