QIGONG

Qi is pronounced chee and is usually translated to mean life force energy. Gong means to cultivate or work. The class consists of a warm up, followed by gentle rhythmic flowing, easy to follow movements, forms that strengthen legs and core muscles, ending with a brief meditation at the end of class. Qigong reduces stress, builds stamina, increases vitality, and enhances the immune system. It will improve balance, cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic and digestive functions. Learn the relaxing and magical world of watercolor in this 10-week Watercolor Series Each class day focuses on a different watercolor technique through demonstration and practice, followed by creating a final painting for the day using the technique learned. This spectral sampler will include the terrifying phantom of Yount Mill Hill; George Yount's eternal stroll; the bone-chilling LA Prescensia; a supernatural stag and more. ISADORA DUNCAN: LIFE INTO ART

Join us for an afternoon of dance and history as Lois Ann Flood performs a selection of the historical dances of Isadora Duncan and tells us the story of how California influenced Isadora on her path to becoming the mother of modern dance. Lois will share stories of Isadora’s youth growing up in Oakland and of her life in her twenties and beyond in Europe, where she became known as the world's first expressive modern dancer. Isadora’s revolutionary ideas on dance would change the way the world viewed women in the arts. This program is lively and appealing to all ages with entertaining and educational dances that express the human spirit.

The Napa Toy Museum is a collection of collections. Wind-up toys from the 1890s to the 1960s. Tiny toys that traveled from factories in Germany to all around the world, to be sold for a penny. Robots and spaceships, patent models, and over 100 mechanical banks that rewarded a penny saved with exciting action. Meet the Museum's curator and owner, Charles Hall. He will talk about the collection and give us a peek at a few of his most unique acquisitions.
