ucatan Today tiene el orgullo de presentar la 11ª temporada del tour “Casas y Jardines”. El tour visita tres casas del Centro Histórico de Mérida, guiado por el encantador y conocedor Keith Heitke. Se efectúa cada miércoles de noviembre a marzo a las 9:45 am, saliendo de LA68 Casa de Cultura, en la Calle 68 x 55, Centro. El precio es de $200 pesos, con un porcentaje destinado a tres dignos beneficiarios. Los participantes pueden elegir entre el Albergue de Ancianos San Joaquín en Progreso, el programa de materiales didácticos de Telchac Education, o el programa de alimentos para los perritos de Evolución Animal. LA68 es una casa de cultura que ofrece varias actividades interesantes. Su restaurante abre a las 8:30 am para el desayuno, y hay un menú especial de comida para después del tour. Keith comienza la gira con un resumen de 30 minutos describiendo el diseño de la ciudad, para darle un punto de orientación. Aprenderá sobre la vida cotidiana de los señores que vivieron detrás de las paredes, y escuchará la descripción e historia de la arquitectura. El recorrido, que abarca tres casas, dura
unos 90 minutos, lo que le da tiempo suficiente para pasear por cada casa. Si Mérida le ha cautivado, no hay mejor manera de entender por qué, mas que haciendo este recorrido.

Tour price is 200 pesos, with a portion going to three worthy beneficiaries: participants will be able to select either the San Joaquín old age home in Progreso, Telchac Education’s teaching aids fund, or the dog food fund at Evolución Animal. Your host will be the knowledgeable and charming Keith Heitke, who will be celebrating his 11th year of leading the tours. LA68, where the tour starts and ends, is a cultural center which offers a variety of interesting activities. Its restaurant opens at 8:30 am for breakfast, and there is a special lunch menu for after the tour. Keith begins the tour with a 30-minute overview, describing the city layout, to give you a point of orientation. You will learn about the daily lives of the gentry living behind those blank walls, and hear a description and history of the architecture. The tour, which visits 3 houses, lasts about 90 minutes, which gives you enough time to wander around each house.
