RESET

Helping young people reconnect, rebuild and reset

Overview

Regional Reset is an early-intervention initiative supporting young people aged 8–17 who are beginning to show high-risk or anti-social behaviours. The program works alongside families, schools, and local services to strengthen relationships and create safer pathways forward.

Regional Reset is funded by the Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support, under the Queensland Government’s Making Queensland Safer plan.

What is it?

Regional Reset offers a short-stay, live-in experience where young people can step away from harmful environments and reset their mindset, behaviour, and relationships.

Each stay is supported by ongoing peer mentoring and case management to ensure that progress continues at home, school, and in the community.

Our peer mentors and case workers walk alongside each young person and their family, helping them connect with the supports they identify as most helpful. Together, we focus on building on strengths, repairing connections, and expanding each young person’s circle of support.

Why it matters

Regional Reset gives young people a safe space to pause, reflect, and change direction.

By working with both the young person and their family, the program helps rebuild trust, repair relationships, and strengthen connections to school, community, and culture— reducing risk factors linked to disengagement and offending.

If you’re a young person interested in joining the Regional Reset program, or if you know someone who could benefit, we’d love to hear from you.
