TECH FEST

Welcome to the thrilling Tech Challenge at the Indore Democratic Summit 2024! This unique opportunity allows students to showcase their talents and develop essential skills in technology, problem-solving, and teamwork. Unleash your passion and creativity as you design, build, and innovate tech solutions. You'll get the chance to strategize, prototype, and present groundbreaking ideas.

Quick Overview :

Total Team Members: 5 members per team

Total Teams: 20 ( First come First serve basis)

Scoring would be done on Cumulative basis across both rounds

The same team will participate in both the rounds of the fest.

The dress code for both days will be formals

Round 1 :- ROBOTICS CHALLENGE

How the Event Will Be Conducted: Kit Assembly and Coding: 1.

Upon arrival, each team will receive a robotics kit.

Teams have 2 hours to assemble and code their robots, followed by registration of the bots.

After registration, teams will have 1 hour to discuss and refine their strategies. Competition Round: 2.

Teams run their robots on the flex track, aiming to cross as many checkpoints as possible. The teams would compete to see whose robot can complete the flex track the fastest. The fastest robot will win the most points, concluding day 1.

What Will Happen at the Event:

Teams will work intensively to build and program their robots, utilizing their technical skills and teamwork.

The competition will be dynamic, with teams striving to achieve the best performance in both checkpoint completion and speed. Specific track details, including the width of the line and layout, will be revealed on the day of the event, adding an exciting challenge.

Guidelines (First Day):

Each team will be provided with one kit only.

Participants must assemble, code, and register their robots within 2 hours. After registration, teams will get 1 hour to discuss strategies among themselves. The competition will start with all teams running their robots on the flex track, one after another.

Marking will be based on checkpoint completion and the robot’s speed, with the fastest robot completing the entire flex track.

Teams will only receive the kits beforehand; the width of the line and the flex track details will be revealed on the day of the event.

Round 2- Coding Challenge:

Agenda Allotment and Preparation:

Upon arrival, teams will receive one of four problem statements/agendas.

Teams that obtain their agenda early will have their ideas heard sooner.

Teams will prepare tech-based solutions to their assigned problems using PowerPoint presentations and optional software/application demonstrations.

Presentation and Judging:

Each team will have 6 minutes to present their solution.

Presentations will be judged on confidence, real-world impact, coordination, and overall presentation quality.

Judges may interrupt if a team deviates from the agenda and can ask questions during or after the presentation.

After all presentations, a central discussion will be held to highlight key ideas and unique solutions.

What Will Happen at the Event:

Presentations will proceed in an orderly fashion, with each team presenting their tech-based solution to a panel of judges.

Participation from all team members will be encouraged to improve overall scores The event will culminate in a central discussion led by the judges to review and acknowledge the most innovative solutions.

Guidelines (Second Day):

Presentation:

Each team will present their solution to the problem with a tech-based idea. Each team has a 6-minute time limit for their presentation. Judges can stop a presentation if it deviates from the agenda and may ask questions related to the presentation during or after it.

Post-Presentation:

After all teams have presented, a central discussion will review and acknowledge the main ideas and unique solutions brought up by each team.

EVENT FEES

GUIDELINES/POINTSTONOTE

A student can participate in only one of the three events. The Youth Parliament is open for students from Grade VI- XII while the Commerce Challenge is open for Grades XI- XII and the Tech Fest for Grades X-XII.

Every school participation shall be accompanied by at-least one faculty member.

A virtual training session regarding the rules of procedure shall be conducted in the first week of august.

Offline Orientation sessions can be arranged as per the requirements of the school.

Fees is not refundable.

HOW TO REGISTER

Registration Guidelines

1. We kindly request schools to complete their registration using the provided link enclosed in the email before the specified deadline.

2. Students are encouraged to register through their school authorities.

3. Once registration is complete, schools are invited to submit an Excel sheet containing student details to our organization. Student allotments will be promptly communicated thereafter.
