Dick Vitale spreads holiday cheer Dick Vitale dropped by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County holiday party on Dec. 14. A major sponsor of the event, the ESPN personality encouraged the children to follow their dreams and persevere. After his speech, he ran through the tables giving high fives and stopping for photos. Michaels & Co. Jewelry moves off Key After 12 years in Siesta Key Village, Michaels & Co. Jewelry will be consolidating its operation at its 5848 Bee Ridge Road location. Owner Mike Morton said the decision to close the Siesta Key location at 5221 Ocean Blvd. largely had to do with higher prices for rent in the village. The store closed just after Christmas.
