“Sinus Pain, Allergies, and Nasal Issues Aren’t “Just Part of Life.”
Minimally invasive, in-office treatments at ENT Associates of Manatee are helping patients of all ages breathe easier and feel better.
If you’ve been told that allergies, congestion, or sinus pain are just “part of life,” Dr. Ben Kelley DO, of Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) Associates of Manatee wants you to know that’s simply not true.
“It’s a cultural belief people have carried for generations,” he says. “But today, there are effective treatments, many of them minimally invasive, that can significantly improve quality of life.”
Dr. Kelley treats patients of all ages- from newborns to those over 100. As a board-certified Otolaryngologist, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, he brings deep expertise in diagnosing and treating sinus problems, chronic nasal conditions, and loss of smell or taste.
“When someone walks into our office, it’s often because nothing else has worked,” he explains.
“They’ve tried medications, urgent care, or seen other doctors. I take the time to learn what they’ve already done and how well they tolerated it. Then we go over what other options are available, starting with the least invasive.”
If the issue involves the nose, Dr. Kelley uses a small, flexible camera to examine the nasal passages and check for inflammation or structural concerns. From there, he may recommend one of several advanced, mostly in-office treatments using the latest

A Pain-Free Path Back to Running
Cathy Brant’s Ramos Center Story.
For more than 25 years, the Ramos Center for Interventional and Functional Pain Medicine has supported patients dealing with chronic and often complex pain. The team prioritizes timely treatment, thoughtful care, and truly listening to each person’s experience. Using minimally invasive, evidence-based approaches, they focus on helping patients manage pain, improve function, and regain quality of life.
Cathy Brant, 65, is one of those patients.
A longtime runner, Cathy had always dealt with a dragging left leg but never got any clear answers. Then, in late 2022, after a boot camp-style workout, she was hit with intense pain. “It was a 100 out of 10,” she says. “I couldn’t function or sleep.”
She tried everything over the next month, from telehealth consults to chiropractic care, acupuncture, and even a visit to her orthopedic surgeon. Nothing worked.
A running friend she met at Benderson Park encouraged her to consider a visit to the Ramos Center. “At first, I told him I’d never go to a pain center,” Cathy says. But after the pain worsened following a fall in her kitchen, she changed her mind.

“I told Keven I just wanted pills,” she says. “But he explained that the Ramos Center doesn’t start with medication. They work to find and treat the root cause.”
She scheduled a consultation and was seen by Dr. Robert Benson. “He was so warm and pleasant,” Cathy says. “He explained everything thoroughly and recommended selective anti-inflammatory epidural treatment.”
Even with a fear of needles, Cathy felt supported. “They gave me something mild to relax, and they even let my husband hold my hand during the procedure,” she says. “It was so professional and precise.”
The first epidural brought some relief. The second left her pain-free. “Now I’m walking fast again and even started running,” she says. “I tell everyone, especially the older ladies I meet at Dillard’s, that the Ramos Center is worth it.”
Cathy’s story is just one example of the personalized, effective care the Ramos Center strives to provide every day. By focusing on long-term relief rather than quick fixes, the team helps patients regain control over their lives. Whether you’re dealing with a recent injury or ongoing pain, the Ramos Center’s comprehensive, patient-first approach can make a real difference. With offices in 9 different locations through 3 counties, their new Lakewood Ranch office is located at 7305 Professional Parkway East off University Pkwy.
After the second treatment, I was pain-free. I’m walking fast again-and even running.”

Olympic Insight, Everyday Impact
When an active lifestyle meets injury or discomfort, the first thing to suffer is often our ability to move freely. That might mean stepping away from the things we love, such as golfing, playing pickleball, gardening, or keeping up with kids or grandkids, because it simply hurts too much.
Dr. Christine Foss understands how quickly these limitations can chip away at our sense of freedom and joy. She has dedicated her career to helping people reclaim both.
Her approach is shaped by decades of working with Olympic and professional athletes, studying the mechanics behind top performance, and years of hands-on care at her former New Jersey-based practice. Today, as co-founder of Bradenton’s Elite Sports Recovery Center with her husband and chiropractic physician Dr. Glenn Foss, she brings that same level of insight, precision, and curiosity to anyone who wants to keep living life on their own terms.
At Elite, the word “sports” isn’t just about competition. It’s about movement. Whether her patient is a weekend golfer, an active retiree, or a parent chasing a toddler, each person deserves the same thoughtful attention given to a world-class athlete.
Everything begins with listening. A thorough evaluation, often supported by 3D motion analysis, helps Dr. Foss identify how discomfort in one area may stem from issues elsewhere in the body. She asks
Success isn’t just medals or trophies. It’s being able to move through life with confidence.”
— Dr. Christine Foss
questions like: Can a golfer’s back pain be eased by improving shoulder motion? Could better ankle strength restore balance and reduce the risk of falling?
From there, every care plan is customized. Chiropractic adjustments help restore alignment. Focused rehab builds stability. Acupuncture and other therapies reduce tension and enhance mobility. State-of-the-art recovery tools, including red light therapy and Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy, support faster healing. Even people without injuries can benefit, using these therapies to recover from workouts, daily strain, or travel.
Dr. Foss is especially passionate about complex cases, individuals who have tried everything and are still searching for answers. “When we take the time to understand the whole story,” she says, “the body often finds a way forward.”
For most people, success doesn’t come with a medal or trophy. It comes when they can travel, garden, play, and enjoy life again without pain holding them back. Learn more by getting in touch with Elite Sports Recovery Center: 941.761.4500 ‘ elitesportsmedicineandrecovery. com
