A date to the fair In 1943, at a Michigan county fair amid cotton candy and games of chance, Lloyd Skutt met the most important person in his life: his wife, Lorraine. The couple married Oct. 28, 1945 and began a 70-year journey together that blessed them with two devoted daughters, a grandson and a great grandson. The Sarasota residents will celebrate the milestone with family at Pier 22 in Bradenton.
