How do you define good design? As the city forges ahead with a form-based code, some architects say architectural standards don’t always make buildings look better. They could just make them all look the same . PAGE 3A

Blazing a trail St. Martha Catholic School second grade teacher Ariana Gallegos ran through a tunnel of students cheering and waving to the “Chariots of Fire” theme Oct. 8 before leaving for the Chicago Marathon, which she completed Sunday. Gallegos has used her training to teach students to work toward goals. “Just putting the work in and dedicating your time and effort to a goal is the lesson,” she said. “It’s not about winning but about hard work and finishing.” Photo by Jack Short

Rappaport has been a leading advocate for the creation of a parking garage near St. Armands Circle, a project for which the City Commission offered some preliminary support in April.
