The all-female receiving line of six dazzling ladies was enough to make any man weak at the knees. The cochairwomen of the fifth annual Palm Ball — Cornelia Matson, Amie Swan, Margaret Wise, Ariane Dart, Pauline Joerger and Nora Johnson — greeted each guest Saturday night with a hug, kiss on the cheek or handshake and sent them outside to congregate in the perfect evening air. In attendance at the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast’s “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil”-themed event was Jacque-

line Morton in her lovely Dolce and Gabbana blouse with its giant flower decoration; Bruce Lesser wearing one of his favorite tuxedo jackets from Singapore; B.J. Creighton donning a fabulous strapless black evening gown adorned with beautiful red satin roses down her back from top to bottom; and Barbara Staton and Bob Cutler in a matching purple orchid corsage and boutonnière.
