Granddog galivant
Rebecca Bergman, Lakewood Ranch resident of five years, dogsits her “granddog,” 13-year-old Morkie (Maltese and Yorkie mix), Winston, once every couple of months. Winston has lived his whole life with Bergman’s daughter, Samantha, and Eddie Martin, of Tampa, who frequently travel for work, which is when Bergman steps in to help. Bergman says Winston enjoys frequent naps and car rides along with their walks. Bergman said he normally walks on his own, but after learning high temperatures can hurt the bottom of dogs’ paws, she decided to take him in a stroller. “Being a loving grandmother, I don’t want to hurt him,” Bergman said. “I want to give him back in good shape.”
