Picture perfect Morgan Mulholland, above, generated $2,000 with the sale of her portrait “Kona,” of a friend’s black Labrador retriever that had died. The Lakewood Ranch High junior used watercolors for the work that sold at the HeArt & Soul Gala, held Jan. 30 at the Manatee Performing Arts Center in downtown Bradenton. Mary Glass, the Manatee Education Foundation executive director, said Mulholland was among six East County students who had photographs and paintings on display at the auction, which generated $30,000 for county high schools.
